Toyota Celica GTS 2001 - 6 speed manual

I hate this car. My first car a fucking Honda Accord EX '92 was faster than this. The gaps in the panels are awful. It does not winter well.

I can see why they dropped Celica after this last generation.

I wanna get rid of it and get something newer, but a house is a higher priority right now.

Sick whip, I had an 84 AE. Thing was so tight. Got half way through an engine rebuild before life took over and I wound up putting it in the junk yard. Wish I still had it!
Now I drive a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart. AWD, Turbo, all the gas guzzling of an Evo with less power and a narrower wheel base!

I love it, though. AWD and turbo are the way to go for sure.

Gotta save my maples for that sweet sweet GTR! When I retire. In my next life.

In terms of other drivers, while that is true, and i had a few close calls during my first couple years, i believe that the greatest danger is your own interpretation and reactions. You learn to scan the road, its been a long time since something stupid surprised me, you can generally profile people by the cars they drive.

the 3 main reasons i don't own a bike

1. having to put the gear on EVERY time you ride, first the jacket, then the helmet, then the gloves. pull over 5 min up the road... take everything off... 10 min later... put everything back on.

2. safety, too many other fuckwits on the road

i can understand that. And that is why you see so many people wearing insufficient gear. But really it takes very little time to put on, you do it while you wait for the bike to warm up anyway, not like you jump in a cold car and just go drive it full speed, unless you want to replace an engine early. But i have a rain oversuit that i wear, packs down in my bag, keeps me dry. Honestly, its the being cold that is worse, not the wetness. After a time, you dont even notice the rain though, its just another day.

Probably because the 2.2 5sfe was a reliable motor and it was available in almost all if not all of those US model years.

The 1zz comes fresh with bad rings and the 2zz will spin a bearing if you rev it too high too often. Drive the GTS like the corolla it is and you wont have many problems.

yep, had a 2006 outback 3.0 H6. dreadful car. beautiful engine ruined by a trash automatic. The 6mt with the 3.0 H6 was like a completely different engine.

You cant live somewhere with bad traffic then, in Auckand NZ it quarters the commute time. The other positive for me is having a track ready vehicle that's cheap to run and fast out of the box, easy to daily and a generally exciting experience every single time i ride. I get to do my hobby twice per day, almost no other people can say that.

Usually scooters have limiters to (duh) limit the max speed to 45 which is the limit a underage should drive at. With the stock 50cc you do not need a limiter. Top speed without remotely over revving is like 38km/h. Downhill 50...

Lots of people modify them with 70's 90's 102's 120's and then top of the line 130/132cc cylinders. As always theres the hyper expensive really top which is like 177cc but pretty much if you don't have a deathwish 132cc especially mine, made by parmakit (I have an SP09) can be enough. You do not want to drive this thing at anything more than 90-100 really tops. I have non standard gearing (like everybody else thats modified at or above 102cc) but it's shorter than what you would find in where it's flatter, I have gearing to go uphill nicely and to sometimes even overtake the slowass car.

For something originally intended to be a cheap indestructible pickup for the average poor farmer it's pretty good and during it's history it had plenty of models and revisions. Now only really old people that had their licence revoked drive them and us sub-18's...
