There are short term cycles of ice ages to warm periods every 100,000 years or so. And over the long term you have more major climate shifts for a variety of reasons, such as moving land masses, new mountain ranges rising, and old mountain ranges eroding, etc. That said, surely you also would think it would be logical that the magical sky wizard would also create life either imbued with the ability to change over time to adapt to the changing environment, or that he is directly and actively influencing that change.
