Just remember - with type 1 diabetes, you always need to inject insulin. A lot of people are giving you misinformation here - just remember - you can't control this with diet alone. You ALWAYS need to inject.

ok OP, I'm 50 this year and I've had type 1 since I was 7 years old so here's some valuable advice. Don't smoke, don't drink beer, don't think candy bars and donuts can't do damage. Don't get lazy and stop doing the blood tests, I did that for years and ended up fucking my eyes, nearly went blind in one eye until laser coagulation saved it.

The more careful you are keeping blood sugars under control the less you will have to worry about complications in the future
