I usually dress really drab. A lot of blacks, whites, and greys. Would people peg me as a tourist because of my Vans? Style sites kept mentioning formal loafers and Idk wtf those even are. I've only wore skate shoes for over a decade.

It's not about fitting in, but standing out. If you're a tourist people will be interested in talking to you. If anything, it's a religious county so stay away from insulting slogans on T-shirt. Also, if you want to visit some of the churches, you can't wear shorts or vests. Last I went I noticed a lot of locals with wrist tattoos and piercings, although they tending to be in bars.

I find that befriending a local at the pub leads to waaay better adventures than just checking out the tourist spots. That's been my experience in the states at least. Met amazing people in bars all through Cali, Colorado, New York, Pittsburgh. Met some locals, told em my story and that I'm trying to party and check shit out and they were happy to help.

Bars were good. Found places with live music. It's not a big drinking culture but people I was with would only leave their houses at 10pm. They tended to move about a bit, from bar to bar, coffee shop and even an ace cream place open at 1am.
