The guitar is a first act i spruced up with duct tape. The see through 5 string bass my dad bought me at a garage sale for 150. The input jack cable has been torn from its ground and needs to be soldered back on but other than that plays great. The classical was 25 bucks, is northrn brand, which ive never heard of, and plays nicely. I have two other classicals not shown in pic and a ukelele...but fuck ukes.

I've got a Yamaha acoustic. I really like it, but I haven't been able to get strings for it for a few months so it's just hanging on my wall with no strings.

Yes I'm too broke to afford guitar strings.

i self taught for 3 years, got a teacher for one year and then self taught again to this day.

it just a hobby though. nowadays i play the rhythm parts of metallica songs when i need to burn some energy.

>>742862550
self taught. learned to play with a silvertone guitar, the first led zeppelin record, and Aerosmith's draw the line on 8 track. i didn't come out of my bedroom for about 6 months. when i finally did, i was pretty damn good. i was recruited by every band in town for quite a while, until i figured i could make more money elsewhere. so now i do it as a hobby

Been playing guitar for about a year and a half and I have this sort of entry level Harley Benton with some stuff modified,so far it didn't disappoint.

i'm not familiar with that brand. it's pretty, i'll give you that. how does it play?
>>
>>742866034
Honestly Harley Bentons are pretty cheap but they play very well for their price,I've had no problems with the pickups and the build quality is way better than on other cheap guitars imo

Alrighty.
Left and right are both Dean Hardtails with trem. The left uses elixir 10-46 gauge and is set up for general purpose playing in e standard. It has coil taps on both pickups, individual tone and volume for each pickup, using the stock Dean pickups.

Hardware in the right one is pretty much the same, but the pickups were switched out, bridge is a seymour duncan full shred, neck is a PRS 57/08, also installed a piezoelectric pickup into it, wired to the bridge pickup, strung with 12-52 elixirs, tuned to whatever I feel like at the time.

Middle is a DBZ Mondial. Same story with coil taps, but it's shared volume and tone knobs. I strung that one with a 7 string set, tuned it to b standard. It has a v-shaped neck for more comfortable playing, which comes in handy for prog.

All of them are Mahogany body, carved maple top, straight thru necks. Those 3 guitars have done more for me than my old collection of 14 that I used for different sounds.

Don't feel sad. I have 2 beautiful Tanglewood acoustics. One 6 string and one 12 string. You gotta have some diversity. Any guitar is a good guitar in the right hands.
>>
>>742866124
damn bud, i like the cut of your jib. you are on heavier strings, i was always a dean markley custom lite guy, i can bend shit that most guys don't want to bend.and i've got one guitar with a coil tap, i fucking love being able to go in and out of a humbucker like that. i love mahogony in any form, i've got a washburn dreadnaught in mahogony, the sound is incredible. you took it from 14 to 3, that's pretty amazing. my toll just keeps going up, i'm at 20 or more now.. at this point i'm probably more a collector than a player. all well, alls well that ends well they say

Nice, dude. I did have a 7 and an 8 string in that collection, but I rarely used the 8 string, and the 7 string can be replicated with the heavier strings and the right setup, so I ditched them. I did have a PRS Custom 24 too, but I preferred the weight and feel of the Deans. DBZ was made by Dean Zelinsky after he left Dean Guitars. The Mondial wasn't made for very long, unfortunately. Zelinsky now has his own line and DBZ was renamed to Diamond. A lot of time and money went into getting them just right, and I couldn't be happier.

Hell yeah dude. I've had the chance to talk to some pretty awesome guitarists.

Michael Angelo Batio played my red Hardtail when I first got it (in store meet and greet, just happened to be the day I picked it up) and it sounded incredible.
Mikael Akerfeldt from Opeth plays his SE signature model on albums and live, believing that if it's good enough for the general public, it's good enough for him.
I watched Steve Vai play on a god damn Gio Ibanez to prove that expensive guitars aren't what makes the guitarist.
Also had the opportunity to meet John Petrucci after a DT concert and talked to him for a while. His only advise to me was to practice until I started to hate playing, and then practice some more.

A basic guitar and a good amp will always sound better than a $5k guitar and a $100 amp.

>I watched Steve Vai play on a god damn Gio Ibanez to prove that expensive guitars aren't what makes the guitarist.

i've spent damn near my whole life saying this. it's all in the player, not the instrument. now granted, a real POS doesn't help, but talent overrides everything in the end.

>practice until I started to hate playing, and then practice some more

smart man. muscle memory takes care of so many fuckups. not just with music, with a lot of other shit.

Sweet. Framus makes extremely nice and extremely expensive guitars. Not sure if that was the case in the 40s though.

I have a cheap Fender acoustic. It's not a bad guitar, had 0 buzz and good tone when I purchased it and changed the strings, but I had to move to a different climate for a couple of months, and it buzzes pretty bad now. 13th fret is dead for every string, 14th and 12th frets are both buzzy (though higher frets are fine, oddly enough), G string sounds choked at most frets, the B string rattles really badly at most frets, as does the A string. I also have some minor intonation problems and the guitar as a overall dead tone, but that is mostly due to the strings being old. How do I fix it bros?
>>
>>742871907
Mess with the truss rod or have someone that knows what they're slung doing fix it. However, maybe just lighter gauge strings woulda fix it
