Story Time!
RULES:
1. First come, first serve.
2. No fun allowed.
3. Choose actual options.

Archive & Context can be found at angelinteractivestories tumblr com/Lauren-And-Anon (Character Guide coming soon)

Lauren took you to a ramen shop to show you some gratitude for the necklace. She was being oddly attentive to you the entire time. Considering how she had been acting toward you at the party it was an odd experience. Not an unwelcome one, but odd nonetheless.

You had finished eating and were both walking to nowhere specifically. She was silent again, looking around the city as you went. Everything was oddly grey today. The pavement was lighter than normal, buildings darker than you remember, her hair wasn't the same shade of brown either. Nor her eyes. Everything had a much more dull tone to it. It was an unsettling realization.

CHOICES:
>Try to talk to her.
>Keep walking.
>Make an excuse to leave.
>>
>>741620051
Try talk to her.
>>
>>741620156

"So how has your day been?" Your gaze glances at her out of the corner of your eye as you talk. She's staring forward now, talking just under her breath. Her face suggested the mood holding her was closer to nonplussed than neutral or even happy.

"It was good. Yours?" She wasn't even bothering to look at you when she talked. Eyes just trained stoically forward.

"Dull until the meal," you feel the need to tell the truth for some reason. She nods sagely but doesn't offer any response after. The best way to describe it would be she isn't even paying attention to you.

CHOICES:
>Ask if everything is okay.
>Thank her for the meal.
>Go on your way.
>>
>>741620464
Go on your way.
>>
>>741620464
Ask if she's okay.

>these 2 pics
>>
>>741620593
Fucking hell you're a downright retard. Time to abandon route now.
>>
>>741620609
Going through my entire folder of this style, artist is @Akairiot on Twitter!

>>741620593

You decide it'd be better to leave her alone if something was wrong. Or if she was just going to essentially ignore you after the meal. "I'm going to go on, thanks again for the meal."

"No problem!" She flashes you a bright smile before turning her attention back to in front of her. Not even a goodbye as you walked away. What was up with her anyway? After some time your aimless wandering ends you in front of the jewelry shop. Remus is inside, staring down at his phone. Why did you make your way here?

CHOICES:
>Go inside.
>Leave.
>Wait to see if he notices you.
>>
>>741620659
What can I say, she sucked all the dicks.

Can't be getting with that.
>>
>>741620887
Wait.
>>
>>741620897
You're literally the biggest dickhead I've seen. With this logic our guy took in all the cocks from the guys at the party as well.
>>
>>741620977
You're right, I'm sorry.

I had a rough day as far as romance is concerned myself so I guess I was taking it out on our guy and Lauren. I probably shouldn't have done that.
>>
>>741620962

You wait outside the door, glancing around. Even the jewelry's colors are two or three shades darker in your eyes. His presence is practically leaking from the store and out into the street. That same air of 'Holier-Than-Thou' but odd attentiveness. You hadn't been able to put a finger to it, but now that you were alone and really paying attention to it that's definitely what it was.

Glancing back to the door you can see him smiling, his chin in his hand as he stares you down.

CHOICES:
>Walk inside.
>Small wave.
>Walk away.
>>
>>741621087
She's going to suck all those dicks now anon with us abandoning her.
>>
>>741621320
walk away.
>>
>>741621324
Yeah, maybe.

I'll shoulder the blame for that if it happens now.
>>
>>741621351
Would you fuck off
>>
>>741621351
Bad move but I understand where you're coming from.
>>
>>741621320
That is a cutie in green. Still can't believe we haven't managed to settle our debt with this guy though.
>>
>>741621351

You scoff to yourself, turning and walking away from the door quicker than you meant to. It was an annoying idea that just his very presence could hold such power over you. Aimlessly wandering again you notice people giving you odd looks. Adam passes you on the street. He gives you a small nod that you return. You stop in front of the park. Everything always seems to lead to here.

CHOICES:
>Sit for a while.
>Keep walking.
>Go home.
>>

You sit at the same park bench that you have the last two times you were here. In an odd sense it was like you had ownership over the spot. Of course you knew you didn't but you always gravitated to here. In the park everything felt... Different. Not better, not worse, just different. The serenity removed worries for the time you were there and everything seemed worlds away. Lauren, Hanni, even Samantha were just names here. No faces to connect to, no emotions positive or otherwise. You notice the green of the grass and trees are the same. They aren't dull.

CHOICES:
>Relax.
>Think about how you're going to pay back Remus.
>Try to reflect on Lauren.
>>

>>

>>
Fuck me this is the worst progress we've done. Officially have lost Lauren now.
>>741622157
Appreciated the first couple stories OP but not staying with these dickheads deciding.
>>
>>741622346
lauren hanni and samantha are just suburban white trash basic bitch names and I have no drive to move this story in a productive direction.
>>
>>741622346
There's only been like, one Lauren option so far.

And also, the relationship is fine.
>>
>>741622346
Maybe we can get her back somehow
>>
>>741622233

Melting into the spot a bit you take a deep breath, and let go. No one bothers you for the duration of your stay. The trees where your eyes come to focus are swaying back and forth ever so gently in a mesmerizing wave. Maybe you would get over this break up after all. Maybe things wouldn't just come to an end in that snap decision. Maybe...

By the time you stand the sun is setting.

CHOICES:
>Check Coffee of Doom
>Go home.
>Confront Remus.
>>
>>741622699
Check CoD.
>>
>>741622346
No hard feelings, I understand the way these stories tend to go may not be for everyone. Sorry to hear, though.

>>741622699

You swing by Coffee of Doom before heading home. Hanni isn't there, and Samantha is at the counter currently ordering a drink from what you can tell. You really don't want to deal with it and make your way home. Ding! Your phone receives a text from Lauren. 'Hey,' is all it says.

CHOICES:
>Respond.
>Ignore it.
>Just go home.
>>

You pause for a moment. Today had been rough, but you barely knew her. Surely she hadn't been able to pick up on that? With a dejected sigh you respond 'No.' Only a few moments pass and she shoots you another text.

'Just personal stuff.' You wait a good five minutes to no response. Turning the TV on to the channel you and Hanni your phone dings almost immediately now.

'Funny.' He doesn't respond, leaving you alone with the TV. You wonder what Hanni was up to today. Thinking back to work brings your thoughts to Samantha. She was off. Very off. Not the usual off but like how you had been feeling internally. Was she feeling the same way? You wonder if she was having second thoughts as well.

CHOICES:

Once asleep you have no dreams that night. You wake up and find yourself groaning. You barely have the will to move, much less get up. Laying in bed was appearing like an increasingly better option. You wouldn't have to deal with work, you wouldn't have to worry about running into Samantha, Remus would leave you alone...

You resolve with yourself that laying there would be pretty okay for the day. Everyone had lazy days, right? ...But without work you wouldn't get money, and you wouldn't be able to pay off Remus. Or afford rent. Or feed yourself. You find yourself slowly inching toward the edge..

With much effort you throw yourself out of bed and into the shower. It had taken a few minutes so you had considerably less time than normal. You'd make up for this by skipping breakfast. Sacrifices must be made.

You just do the basic cleaning, not even shampooing your hair, before your off to work. On the way the streets are oddly empty. That isn't to say there isn't people, just there are much less than you're used to. Inside the grocery store, you take station and wait for a customer.

You work lazily, only doing the bare minimum for the day. You don't get much complaining from the customers, and you get to slack off a little. Overall it's a win-win. But once your shift comes to an end you aren't sure what to do with yourself.

I came back and saw another Lauren option and this guy purposefully rejects it. Easily salvageable, and helps this grow. Of course, as you said it is the flaw of the medium I have chosen to use. We could possibly switch to a different, or try something else, even if it's a small audience or very few people.
>>
>>741625457
Don't try to put this on me, I only did that once then some other guy came over and started picking all the worst options.

I've been trying to get in his way by replying to his posts and trying to bait replies to my own so he might waste time replying to me and someone else could grab the response.

In theory there's several ways to do that, but it wouldn't work for the time-constraints of /b. At this point I can scrap today's thread, form a new one right now or wait until tomorrow to form a new one. But until then, still want to discuss what we can do.

>>
>>741625457
If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of the story you should choose an option yourself. I've had time to read every paragraph and reflect on how I want the story to proceed. Any accusation of exploiting the thread is unfounded and in my opinion counter intuitive to the spirit of the game. Just because it's not taking the direction you wanted isn't a reason to hold the thread hostage and cause OP to quit, I'm trying to save this story as is.
>>741625711
It's painfully obvious what you were trying to do. If you had any control over your emotions I could have a shred of respect for you.

Isn't it hypocritical of you to criticize me for allegedly derailing the thread when you, yourself have no problem with doing it? This is why I'm fucking your wife and you're not.
>>741626443
It is not malicious intent, your options are unvaried and your characters are simply undesirable. There is also a clear course where you are trying to lead this story, and it is predictable.

I'm trying to get you to explore its full potential. If you want suggestions, then do not starve us for choice. Outsmart me. Take the story in another direction. Getting angry because I choose one set of options and then declaring them invalid or malicious means we weren't truly given freedom of choice in the first place. You should be ashamed for holding me accountable to your own shortcomings as a writer and pandering to a specific group of anons. If this is how you react to adversity I have nothing but contempt for you, and I will gladly see you tomorrow.

I'll be glad to see you tomorrow, and while some of the things you have said are correct not all of it is. I do have some end goals in mind, but it's not one clear one. Currently I have four ideas on where the story could go depending on what happens. And I apologize for calling it malicious, but that's how it felt. I am far from ashamed, and I do admit it is my shortcomings. I'm not attempting to pander but simply provide an enjoyable experience for the reader and myself. If it hits a point where I am not enjoying it then I withhold a right to say maybe something is wrong, and you are right. That something was me, not you. Thank you for pointing that out.

>>
>>741627832
No matter how much you would like to insist, it is untrue, and cannot be proven. I could have as easily said you have ruined mine, through interrogating me and declaring your departure after not getting your way. If you want a democratic CYOA thread, then it should be decided upon by the sum of votes rather than the first option chosen. Alternatively, beat me to the punch. If I can do it, so can you.
>>741627951
That would be clever of you.
>>741628006
Until you can prove they're incorrect your opinion holds no value to me. I'm sure whichever goals you had in mind will be as uninspired as the severely limited possibilities your lack of originality will surely doom this thread to. We all do things without intending to (except for myself as I do not make mistakes), but I can overlook yours just this once for admitting how shortsighted you are. Hopefully you are in a better mood tomorrow and do not waste our time. You're welcome. Goodnight.

>>741628956
Just admit you wanted to ruin the relationships and choosing the options that you know will hinder the story.
>>
>>741628956
You forgot your fedora buddy
>>
>>741629050
I will see you tomorrow, anon. I would try not to instigate anyone next time.
>>741629121
Which one? Please point it out and explain yourself.
>>741628465
I'm glad you could set aside your emotional outburst and see reason.
>>741629233
Would you admit to something that you never did in the first place? If I did it to appease you that would just be dishonest.
>>741629372
I don't own a fedora, but your concern is endearing. Goodnight.
>>
>>741629927
So you enjoy the choices that provide nothing? Literally providing nothing in anyway to the story other than just sitting on the floor playing with your thumbs.
>>
>>741629927
>Which one? Please point it out and explain yourself.

It's one of those lessons you'll learn in time.

Unless you're autistic, then you'll never learn it.
>>
>>741629927
Wow. You actually believe your own shit. Hahaha wow.
>>
>>741630449
Go easy on him.

He must be like, 18 or autistic.
>>
>>741630128
I am not the writer, you will have to take up your concern with OP and how they are "Literally providing nothing". Given their temperament doing so could be very costly to you.
>>741630134
In other words you are going to make an empty statement without explaining yourself? I guess if I had to have made a mistake it would have been expecting too much from you.
>>741630449
I'm sure it would seem incredible to someone like you, but I assure you it's all very common.
>>741630518
Flattery will get you nowhere. I remember when I was at that age when I thought making light of a socially crippling cognitive impairing disability was humorous, except I don't.
>>
>>741630869
But its because of your choices anon? Its not the OP. You're choosing options you fully understand and know nothing gets out of them.
>>
>>741630869
The fact that you are ruining a thread just to prove your "intellectual superiority" and shit on OP's options proves you are a huge piece of shit
>>
>>741630869
>In other words you are going to make an empty statement without explaining yourself?

It's what I do. I don't see how explaining your mistake would benefit me in any way.

It seems to me that that course of action can only serve to help you improve and correct upon your mistake. And that's not at all something I want for you.

I just pointed it out so that when your mistake eventually comes to bite you in the ass, you can feel even worse when you remember that I warned you.
>>
>>741630960
Is it? You cannot understand what comes of them until OP has made their next post, if they lead to an unsatisfying end it's because OP has decided that is where he wants the story to go, if that bothers you then maybe you should complain to the person writing the story. If they do lead to a disappointing end it is all part of OP's design for allowing someone else to "Ruin" your thread and "Fuck" your wife. Again, you'll really have to talk to him about that in the next thread.
>>741631342
I never claimed I was intellectually superior to anyone, but thank you for your kind description. I wish I could say the same of you.
>>741631866
See, what I am telling you is that the burden of proof is on you to back up your claim. Regardless of how it seems, your opinion is meaningless unless backed up by statements. Oh I am sure in some alternate universe when this "Bites me in the ass" as you eloquently put it, I will remember. Goodbye, low effort anon.

I'm still here to answer any questions if anyone wants to direct them at me. But I will attempt to do less non-choices.
>>
>>741632777
I'm complaining to you though because you're the reason this thread went to shit and you fully understand it. Don't try and shift the blame to OP because you don't like this. You're choices are what makes OP decide to right the replies with the choices in context and they are all choices for shit endings with nothing moving, I'm done replying to you because you're a dickhead who knows he's a dickhead.

If I cared about winning an argument, sure.

But I just wanted to preemptively gloat.
