DS9 was a great extension of that line of enquiry, but it's character development is way more solid and nuanced than what TNG attempted. there are lakes with deep dropoffs like that. There's cliff ledges that people jump off into lakes. There's also cliff edges that are only a foot or two above where the lake starts, making the edge of the lake go straight down 100 feet.

there's also areas that look like a gentle shore, but as soon as you walk out a couple feet it drops off dramatically, there's rivers like that too.

a lot of lakes people typically recreation are are man made, which is why if you've never been hiking you may have never seen how actual lakes are.

Watched the first season and couldn't get into the shitty acting. Just another book that should have never been made into film, like the dark tower. Not to mention the dragon CRUSHED their moral, and scared them all. Plus the first time fighting legendary fearless dothraki from stories, AND being suprised attacked.

Furthermore jamie just had a conversation about their forces being "spread so thin" while the dothraki were amassed. They had a tactical advantage in ALL aspects, as well as a psychological advantage.

swinging an a arakh on horseback is much more effective than using it on feet. And even plate mail has weak points, which I'm sure would have been discussed in planning the attack, since tyrion has a first hand understanding of lannister issue armor and it's weaknesses.
