Often times, the elite suicides stem out of the arts. Musicians, actors, etc. They may have all of those things but are personally disturbed, unstable and depressed and would be whether they were famous or not. It's actually been proven in studies that once you have all your needs met, money does not increase long term happiness or life contentment. That comes from hard work, meaning, and relationships.

Getting out of your head with, say, drugs or whatever doesn't bring you peace of mind, though. It just brings you to a place where the shit doesn't matter for a while. Then you sober up and that shit is still there stinking up your brain. The more you try to just shove it into a corner and ignore it, the worse it gets.

This plays out in the brain as chronic chemical imbalance. The more you bounce between fixating on and ignoring the shit, the more out of whack becomes your chemistry. The more fucked your chemistry, the more difficult it is to break the habit (yes, pun) of fixating/ignoring. This exact cycle killed one of my parents (I like to believe it was an accident, but who knows).

You have to face your demons. Come to grips with whatever haunts you. Accept that it happened, accept that it IS STILL painful even decades later. When you accept it, you can come to be at peace with it. That is how you drag yourself out of a suicidal spiral and prevent faggots from asking on /b/ why people fucking kill themselves.
