I'm not saying this mom made it all up but you've got to wonder how reliable this testimony is. It's got to be pretty horrific to lose your child in such a way and then see no leads for years. I can't imagine the kind of pain those parents went through, and I wouldn't be surprised if it led to people creating narratives to "explain" the loss they experienced.

It's just weird that this guy would go to all this trouble of escaping, tracking down his mom in person, having a great idea of when people are tracking him, etc., and yet providing no evidence for his claims other than verbally telling his mom about this. Again, not claiming it was made up, but it would have been great if this guy, as a whistleblower, could do more to bring attention to the case than to just talk to his mom for 5 minutes.

Concerning the photos in 2006 thing, that's obviously horrific, but weren't the children identified as not being from Iowa or even after Gosch was kidnapped? I think out of those familiar with the case.only the mom still thinks her son was one of the photos.

Just generally speaking, the mom has made a lot of claims that no one else could possibly confirm. Even the boy's dad has stated that he's not sure whether the mom is remembering things correctly or whatever. It's a sad case to be sure. But I wouldn't bet my whole worldview on this mom's story being 100% ironclad, because anyone with that much grief could get their mind mixed up.

There's a story in my neighborhood where these two school bus drivers went to jail for like 20 years because some kids said they dropped them off every day at one of their houses to molest them.
