the underlying story behind them was great, it was just delivered very poorly

the clone wars cartoon series shows this. Essentially if the characters were more along the lines of what we saw in there (especially anakin), the prequel movies would have been better.

also, another big complaint people have about it is the bad choice of color palette. you cant have 'grim' scenes when everything is so colorful and dainty (i.e. order 66)

I actually like that they completely wrecked the prestige and mythical status of Jedis in the prequels. Yeah, in the original trilogy and all the fanboying for decades since then it seems like they were some godly, wise beings. But consider that in real life we talk about Viking berserkers as if they were mythical, when they were probably just big, unwashed, ugly white guys. We always talk up the warriors from the past.

Midichlorians make sense as an explanation for the force.

The Jedi being aware of midichlorians and having simple blood-sugar style meters that can read them raises stupid problems. Like why they don't then just have all government figures tested to make sure that the evil mind-controlling force users aren't working their way into a dictator position and manipulating the galaxy into war with itself to gain even more power.

It would be better if the Jedi didn't really understand the Force, but lied to themselves that they did.

they dont test every1, cuz u want to be a jedi and ud test yourself. If u show signs of force, its evident, u have a lot of them. Also those force sensitives r gathered up in the jedi temple and trained there. If the teaching fails, they just leave and want to fight the jedi. How can u stop that, when u r a jedi?
