Someone else has mentioned termites, but seriously don't underestimate them if you can get a hold of some. Right before you turn in the keys or w/e, dump a massive fuck load of termites in the attic and in the crawlspace. Maybe even a few handfuls behind things like the stove. The key is to make it so they aren't noticed.

If you can't get termites (not sure how easy they are to buy where you live) mice also work, but are more expensive. The key is to get A LOT of them, and to only release them right before departure.

I know someone who did the termite thing when their landlords changed and the new one was literally a fat "trans" nigger (NOLA, go figure) and it ended up doing like $16,500 worth of damage - that they never even went after them for.

Instead of pulling off shingles, drill holes through them. Cordless drill with a 1/8 inch bit will do the job. Don't do any around vents or stacks, just at random throughout the roof. You want at least 2 inches of penetration through the shingle and the decking. Do 20 or so, all over the roof. At least 1 hole over each room in the house.

It won't become noticeable until the next time you get about 3 days of steady rain. It'll also require that the whole roof gets replaced. That starts at $10K, and goes up from there.
