I was a fast food worker for a long time and I think that it's a job which only really exists because our society is sick. Skeleton crew, shit pay, everyone hates each other or is too stupid to pick up on the fact that everyone hates each other... it's a cesspool. It's not a dignified position. Do the niggers picketing deserve $15? No. Should the job pay $15 and attract people who DESERVE that much? Yes. But then those niggers wouldn't have jobs at all (because basic economics) and we'd have the same problem.

This is why we either need basic income or sterilization programs or something else. This nonsense can't continue forever.

When I first started working at Subway I was paid $6.15 an hour... That was some bullshit. But even I think that $15/hr is extreme for making a fucking sandwich. I can see 10~12/hr being reasonable.

Inflation is the reason that a bottle of water is $10 in DC.... they just bumped minimum wage to $12.50/hr and now the water will be $11 a bottle.

Perhaps it's different in the US, but from my understanding our central bank regulated the amount business can adjust their prices to stop the cost of living being hiked to protect corporate profits. They have to balance it with inflation rather than profit, so if nothing is causing the currency to change value than living prices should remain steady to some degree. Again, not an econ fag.

as a highschooler who works in a state with a high minimum wage i think its nice to have the extra spending money. realistically though i believe $7.50 is a perfect minimum wage. minimum wage is for teenagers and not adults with family's. having the wage low influences them to try to gain a better education and more skill so they can move up in the world and achieve higher pay. minimum wage is for teens.

There are a lot of people in this thread who don't understand how a pay increase would *actually* work.

You can't just raise min wage to $15 overnight, it would have to be slowly brought in, meaning you get a dollar or so increase each tax year (or something along those lines).
