It was a little more wild and less contrived. We didn't have CAPTCHA or anything before THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST got spammed too hard by robots. So I guess it was interesting because everything was brand new. It was a little bit like fucking without a condom on. It's still the same shit but with a little less protection and everything is a little more reactive. It felt like there were only a few dozen of us (even when there were thousands) because everyone was constantly posting new things. I remember one guy got real fucked up when we convinced him that the whole board was pre-made and automated and there were just the two of us taking shifts replying to him, the only other human, to make it seem like it was all interactable instead of one big hoax.

Plus the porn was better.

Another "Oldfag" checking in, been lurking since around 2007. I used to be a newfag but guess I'm not anymore. Maybe /b/ was a bit more active with memes. Like longcat, cockmongler, EpicFailGuy, You Just Lost The Game, portal memes caturday was a thing, people would C-C-COMBO BREAKER you. There were lots of sex stories threads that were pretty decent. This was before /r9k/ was introduced and split off a lot of people. I think /b/ became quieter after that. Now there's a lot more porn threads. 4chanarchive still worked, shame they lost all their data and don't exist anymore.

And people talked differently too, like using the word GET 0WND and "this is the cancer that is killing /b/" came up a ton. Triforce used to actually work back then. It just felt different. Not sure how to put it.

I don't have that much interest in technology outside of the internet so I rarely go to /g/. If I go, it tends to be for tech support stuff or "Is anyone having the same problem as me" kind of things. Sorry! I like some of the /g/ memes though, and I will probably be using GNU/Linux for my next OS.

I was 16 when I first visited 4chan and I legitimately don't remember how I ended up here. I am 27 now.

I think constant use of 4chan over the years has definitely shaped my attitude on a lot of things in real life, and to some degree my personality and behavior as a whole. I don't think I would trade that for the world though. My advice is to take a break from this website from time to time and go outside.
