I've been out 7 years.

Prior AF

Stationed in Okinawa 3 years.

1 year in states.

Took post 9/11 GI Bill and got a degree.

Enlisting != leaving for basic training.

You sign your enlistment papers, then you get a ship date.

What is your ship date?

This will determine how much time you have to become a not-fatbody.

Also, if you want to actually get in shape and stay in shape, then enlist with the Marine Corps.

Run/jog everyday at least 5 miles and pull some basic exercise routines online without weights a month is plenty of time to make it so you won't die. Remember you have to do those exercises over 30 minutes to see effects anon don't just do 50 push-ups a day and think you will be ok.

I haven't enlisted yet so I don't have a ship date. You get 270 days after enlisting to ship out and I'm doing a 14 week emt course starting in august so I'll probably ship out sometime in January.

You can start lifting weights but you probably want to focus on cardio, Im not military but having the stamina and energy is going to be the most important thing if you get called for duty. You don't have to focus on lifting too much or becoming super buff though strength is important, just focus more on getting your cardio up.

Go to the gym and ride on bike or run on treadmill, or if you have a bike cycle in the morning for a couple of miles or find a track or path to run on.

Also understand your body can take excerise to a limit and anything beyond that limit is not going to help you. Form a schedule and know your limit to maximise your gains, no meme intended.

Explain it better next time. You made it seem like you were wanting to become a medic in the National Guard, which made it seem like you were about to ship out like right now if you were to go to AIT in August, thus leaving you no time to prep.

Ok you've got six months. Do what the other anon said about 5 miles, etc. Build yourself up slowly and make to stretch and become more conscious of your body. Don't overdue it, but push yourself.

Learn where you feel tight and what needs stretch to avoid injury. Don't overlook your smaller muscles. Many play large parts in stabilization to prevent injury.

Get sleep, plenty of protein, and a lot of water. Train hard. Take days off and stretch a lot those days. Get used to having an elevated heart rate during the workouts.

Focus a lot on bodyweight exercises and running/sprinting.

USAF was there first not the Army or Murines.

You want to join the military slightly out of shape. Because they want to see you improve while in basic.

I got lucky. I joined while in the best shape of my life. I played lots of sports. So my times I set when I first joined, was no way to beat them. They want to see a 20% improvement, and I had just set the best 2.5 mile run time I've ever done.

When it came to do the final test, i got VERY sick and luckily missed the test. I was so sick I almost died. I had a fever of 104 and it was 120 in texas that day. I had to walk about 4 miles to get to the hospital. Almost didn't make it.

Shit went haywire almost immediately after it hit. They had to pull in fucking military escorts and arm the SAR itself after they got shot at. Some gangs were trying to fucking raid gov't supply stores with actual military guard. I knew sar workers who had to tend to people in one of the centers, for like 2 days straight they had to keep in mind that one side of the building was getting shot at from the hurricane zone, some gangs were taking potshots.

So yeah of course they're not gonna bring them in and just walk them right on in armed.
