Alright dude. Ill tell you whut. I went to purdue for microbiology and genetics with the hopes of discovering the fountain of youth... 2 years in, i had an epiphany and decided to not pursue that route any further. I will not be the tool that pushes that button... long story short, i got a job doing industrial cleaning. I didnt even know it was industry. Ive been doing it for 3 years now and ive turned down the opportunity to be a supervisor several times because im not a fool who will be taken advantage of and take on 10x more responsibility for an extra 2$ an hour. (Theres a lot of details to explain but im not going to elaborate)

Either way, its some hard labor. I went from 155 to 177 in my first year (im 6 ft) and it was all muscle. I was also very sore for the first 6 months. But its decent money. And you will be worked if you arent late, no matter how useless you are.
I know of a guy who is a supervisor at a competing company next door to us who is actually illiterate. He only knows enough to get by. But when it comes to reading a book, hes fucked. Thats how simple this work can be-- make it clean, dont get hurt... i make over 17$/hr anything over 8 hrs is OT, along with a bunch of other shit. Technically in the laborers union, other companies like us are in the painters. Theres alot of politics that the industry uses to stay cheap and to keep laborers unorganized while exploiting their apathy and lack of intelligence... im actually in the process of getting into the united states steel workers union at US steel at this very moment. So ill be glad to be getting something cushy without much effort other than being a decent worker. Its worth looking into though. Typically the line if work is called industrial cleaning or environmental cleaning. It can be dangerous. Ive had to work inside of vessels before where if i took off my supplied air respirator and took a few breathes, itd either give me cancer or kill me immediately. Just dont be retarded.
