So my mom went through a rather extreme depression and went a little crazy at the same time. She'd run around the house looking for X's in the carpets because she was convinced that people came in and drew them while we slept. She also believed all sorts of weird shit like everyone in the world knows about us and proof of it is in TV commercials and programs...

But she's seemingly completely normal now. Little paranoid but hasn't mentioned crazy things like that in years. Except for when I question her about those episodes and if she still believes the government and world knows us... she responds with "I'm not wrong. You'll see one day. I promised you." Is this something a schizophrenic would do? Hold a completely illogical belief like that to themselves for 10+ years? This has confused me for a long while now and it's too touchy a topic to talk about anymore.
