Back in the days of the Urza Block I played competitively in the Arena League. I designed a deck I called Elfstroke. I won a ton of tournaments in the northeast with it, and at one point the top three players in the region actually refused to play me for Arena points. I used to go to the Neutral Ground tournaments in NYC trying to call them out in public. It only worked once. I won 3-0, and scored a humiliating win in game two with a 4th turn kill.

I used mass elves to generate HUGE mana early, then worked my combo Weatherseed Treefolk + Rancor, sac to Greater Good Play an intruder alarm, tap my elves out, play an elf, untap, play weatherseed Treefolk rince repeat until I had all of my kills in hand. Then either force my opponent to draw out (I could generate upwards to 3k mana by the 4th turn) or fireball him, volcanic geyser, or meteor shower. It was really a fun deck. But people just hated playing it.

I usually play commander, but then, in order, Legacy, Vintage, and Modern.
I started in Onslaught.
Oh, and my playgroup plays competitive, turn 2 Commander. None of that 3 hour games where you have a chance of fairly hardcasting Eldrazi Titans.

Uh, no. The most expensive cards arent over a grand, and you have 60 cards in a deck (if you know what you are doing at least...). So that means even if you just slammed 60 of the most expensive card in a deck, it would top out at 60,000.

And you can talk about how this card was sold to this collector for this amount, but players dont buy collecters cards. You can call your deck worth a million, and you could even be right, but good luck finding someone to actually PAY that.

There is no limit to deck size, outside of being able to shuffle it. So you could theoretically have a deck made of nothing but 100,000 lightning bolts and as long as you can shuffle that would be a $100,000 deck.
