I'm wagering it's barely warm by the time you finish. Microwaves need a certain amount of time to heat food/beverages. 1 second at a time probably won't be sufficient.

Probably not. This assumes that the heating of the product inside reaches maximum energy instantly, and possibly that it declines instantly as well.

I'd wager that the microwave takes a couple seconds to reach peak energy and thus will only be able to heat your food sufficiently if your food is microwaved for a minimum period (regardless of number of periods) of 3 seconds.
