I was a massive mac fanboy until the 2000's when adobe stopped developing natively for mac. At that point in the game, macs had little to no advantages over PCs. Fonts were a "maybe", but even then unless you were doing actually printing on a fucking press, it didn't matter. Mind you, we were using Quark and shit.

I worked for a videogame company where my mac was just a PITA for the IT, and I needed a PC to do half my work... at that point I sort of said "fuck it", and let my mac go.

I've been on both sides of that fight, and personally - I can't justify mac expenses. Yeah I have a 2 grand PC, but the upgrade paths, used gear, and free software options are just way better for me. ( speaking from a cracked software point of view too ) .

About the only people I truly respect who use mac are either

1) creatives
2) coders
3) people who are so rich as fuck they don't care

What pisses me off is the people ( like my sister ) who only learned mac, won't try anything else, and feels she "just can't work" on a non-mac. So she's like 1 step away from homeless, and needs a new $2000 macbook pro or some shit.
