dry humor is super condescending. It just is. most, if not all europeans are a bit privy to this, hence why people like Ricky Gervais and post Comedy Central Jimmy Carr dont really get massive praise. They're charismatic enough to convey ideas, but their humor is so british and coated in irony, it is kinda hard to pick through and find the funny if you dont have the patience.

With that said, Shawn of the Dead suffered the most of all Simon Peg/Nick Frost films, when I bring them up around my film watching friends. They just cant really tell where its going and the climax and falling action came off a muddle between zombies and horror, therefore it didn't really land. I get the movie and love it, but I see their point. Too different to what the US is expecting in a comedy.
