I definitely know what you mean. I think it was meant to be where the characters have their convictions tested in the end of 3 and then their fall and rise shown in 4. But it was too slow paced for the amount of development they had. They didn't really make the journey of their development compelling. We went from high action high intensity at the end of 3 to 'hey lets walk for weeks instead of just taking a plane like any sane person!' It really dragged and felt like nothing was happening

If its the animation that bothers you it picks up in season 2 and beyond. lot less distractingly shitty

I think the animation quality in 4 was awesome, but the writing was meh. At least chibi is pretty good.

I never really cared much for chibi. I only watched the first 10ish episodes, but I'd only chuckle like once an episode, so it wasn't worth it for me to keep watching
