a lot of people hate on 2 but i think its pretty good, certainly looks nicer than the 1 and has a lot more content and dlc

I actually didn't like any of those DLC's even though I loved the main game. Dead Money was just cancerous and stopped me from getting a complete hardcore run, lonesome road and OWB are w.e. and honest hearts was ok. The weapon packs partially just felt like cheating since you get some of them in the beginning.

Get the normal. You don't get extra "campaigns" like some faggot said, you get a couple of dlc's, and pretty much all of them suck.

also OP, don't waste time with quests on your first playthrough. Go straight through the quarry and skip to new vegas. You can get the other sidequests done when you're geared up.

As far as DLCs go:

Dead Money: just okay. Pretty shitty if like me you were excited to see a new area, only to have all your weapons taken away and end up having to fight enemies with the shittiest gear imaginable

Honest Hearts: Decent enough, you finally get to meet the Burned Man that everyone talks about. But I found it to be really short.

Old World Blues: lots of fun but some of the enemies are ridiculously hard to kill. You eventually get to fight a giant robo-scorpion.

Lonesome Road: really fun post-apocalyptic landscape to cross, variety of enemies, and ED-I can join you. The only problem with this one is it's supposes to give you answers about your past, but the Big Bad speaks in stupid riddles and is hard to understand, even with subtitles.


An extra $7.50 to pad out your gaming experience might be worth it, depending on what kind of gamer you are.

protip; the real fast way to vegas is to keep heading north from the cemetary and there'll be a passage between some rocks with some cazadores on the other side. stick to the rock face heading east until you cant anymore. the cazadores shouldve fucked off and there will be another passage between two rocks. therell be a babbin deathclaw there but just lead them to powder gangers at a farm just due north. smooth sailing from there

Also go to nexusmods and get the Nexus Mod Manager as well as some mods. Will make a ton of difference. There should be a lots of videos that explain how to mod the game.

Yeah, i hated DM the first play through, and thought everything was bullshit, especially the god damn radios.. And even though i was high level, all the timed challenges was rage inducing. But i grew to appreciate it, and DM had great writing and characters, and it tied into everything so well, with the lore you find in Old World Blues.

With Lonesome Road i was a little dissapointed with Ulysses, he was a bit underwhelming..

Obsidian should get a licence to make another Fallout title, what Bethesda is doing is fucking amazingly retarded. Fallout 4 was depressingly bland, and the new perk/skill system was the normiest bullshit i've seen.. Fucking disgusting.

Dead money is best for me because it created that survival atmosphere replacing the gameplay of you running around with 1000+ bullets for each gun killing everything and satisfying the power hungry boner.
only people who like it on easy mode hate dead money. roleplayers such as me who play on very hard hardcore with weapon limits and loot limits and play quests and responses according to the character sheet found it most enjoyable. also house always wins.

Then, I farm 100+ NCR dog tags, become Idolized instantly with the Legion, travel to Trading Post 188 to spawn the undercover frumentarius that gives me access to the Legion supply cache.
