Learn the basic proportions of men and women's skeletons, no matter how much tumblr screeches about MUH GENDERS. Do skeleton studies so you know what normal skeletons look like. This is the bedrock of good art.

Look at tons of thicc, muscle, chubby, and fat nudes. Even the stuff that you don't like. Both pictures and video. Stare at every body part endlessly. Ass, tits, butt, thighs. From every angle and every body type. Even skinny women too, as they have clearer bone structure.

Keep doing this you can visualize different body types in your head. It helps if you can masturbate to some of this, as it will really keep you visualizing. While you do all of this, do realistic studies of all these variants. You'll start to develop an understanding of how all of these things move together.

As you start develop your understanding, start exaggerating the characteristics that are attractive and downplaying the ones that aren't. Use what you've learned from studying skinny women to help restrict poses and manage underlying flesh.

Also use reference whenever possible. But never trace. Your goal is to learn and understand the proportions and behavior of flesh so you can generate it anew, not blindly copy an outline.

The most I can do is tell you what to look for: perkiness and health of skin despite their size. Pic related.

If you go from left to right, you'll see a trend. The ones that are perkier relative to their size are generally going to be considered more attractive, milf and granny fetishes aside. This goes for every body part: breasts, thighs, buttocks, upper arms, faces, necks, stomachs, and how the body fat creases on the sides and backs. If you look closely, the perkier the body fat and more supported by muscle it is, the less it creases. Most chubby art exaggerates this perkiness, and minimizes the degree to which skin folds and deforms to only being tiny accents and hints of a crease. See the stomach of the cartooned example at the far right to understand what I mean.

However, you still can't escape the work you have to put in: autistically spend time looking at people with different body types and skin consistencies, both attractive and unattractive. Compare the ones that look better to ones that look worse, and try to understand why each look better or worse relative to the others. This includes the ones that look like melting messes of fupa and sag. I'd have included some of those in the collage, but the thread would have started screeching. You'll have to find those on your own.

For some only slightly heavier girls that look naturalistic, try Lanie Morgan and Carolina Munoz from Zishy. Scoreland can be ok for understanding perkiness and shape on larger women, but their lighting is atrocious. Good luck.

See someone a little cool on the street? Sketch down what they look like after, and use that as source material. Steal from real life and the questions you ask about it in your head constantly.

Another note on OCs and characters: don't focus on the world as much, focus on their relationships. The world is backdrop that you explore through the characters, otherwise it's a history book. Some people might like that sort of Tolkien shit, but most people prefer the fast version with a qt orlando bloom elf, hot elf babes, rugged men romancing the elf babes, and a whole lot of fighting. Also character development. Hell, for an even better example, look at Harry Potter.

You've got a prestigious school for wizards and witches, but it's secret. Why is it secret? Because witches and wizards live apart from society, and don't do things they way we do with technology. They use magic instead, and it makes them lazy and bad at logic. But they're still gonna send acceptance letters, right? Definitely, but how? Are they going to use normal mail? Fuck no, they're going to use something stupid and magical, we already established that wizards are lazy and suck at logic. What's something stupid but cool and magical that wizards might use to send mail? It has to be low-tech and quaint, so no magical mail robots. Pigeons? They used those in the past, but can we make it any more interesting? Yeah, we can! We need a bigger, more badass bird! Falcons and eagles are a little too badass and unmysterious though, so what are we going to use? Owls are mysterious but still badass. Hell yeah, they're even associated with wizards and magic already. But if everyone uses owls at the school....etc, etc etc

And then after a bit we've fleshed out a room in hogwarts that's probably at a tower, where people feed and take care of owls, and fleshed out some architecture too.

If we answered the earlier questions differently, we would have built up an entirely different world and asked different resulting questions. Eventually, you may want to have your characters drive the sorts of questions you ask. For now, you should just practice asking these sorts of questions.

Well you won't get any better at art or characters or story by NOT making them. Seriously, don't worry about them being bad. Set clear and achievable goals that can be broken down into achievable steps, and try fucking around. It might give you ideas! You'll get better as you make more and get critique. Don't get it from /b/ though, we're a bunch of angry assholes that like to shit on things.

Maybe you want to do something about a knight. Are they in a real country, or a fantasy world? Somewhere in between? France, but with magic?

Or maybe looking at the art you've posted so far, a robot ninja in the future? What's the government like? Who does the ninja work for? Are they a contract killer, or a holy warrior that perfects their martial art? A freelance assassin How does the group they work for fit into the world?

See where the questions take you, and don't be afraid of asking them. If you get stuck, sleep on it, and do something else for a bit. Then come back. If you're still stuck, maybe pick words out of a hat or word generator. But be sure to establish routine, and do a little bit every single day. Asking questions might be hard now, but I promise you can get better.

I was going to draw her thicc and somehow cow / lactation themed, so trying to shove the catbot in raised a question: how do I make her relevant to milk, cows, or lactation? I decided milk maids are related, so then I wondered how I'm going to make the catbot a milk maid. Milk maids usually have buckets in art, right? I'll do that. And give her a vaguely farm-like dress.

I could have tried to add a hat or an apron too, but that would have been too much work. Do you get what I mean about questions now?

Practice instead of trying to avoid it. You need to learn to draw with smooth decisive strokes. Once you get better at that, you will be able to make better line art that isn't sketchy. It's really hard if you're used to making tons of tiny strokes, but it's worth working on.
