Do the Canadian tribes make any money off of mineral rights? (Tar sands, fracking, stuff like that.)

To answer your question, pretty fuckin awesome not paying tax as long as i stay on my reserve. Intergenerational damage is a thing also, the school generation which is still very much alive and well are damaged broken people who were abused. If we lose our culture, we lose our identity. we turn to drugs and alcohol. and as a result, these people do not learn to parent properly, these kids, also become damaged. and so on, until people like me decide to break free and go to school not wanting to turn out a drunken indian hitchhiking at 60 years old.

I come from the Native American Church (N.A.C) and i've attended ceremonies where peyote was our medicine. However, we take very small doses that don't really affect a lot we're not in the tipi getting fucked up by any means.

What's making the biggest difference to my people is the finding of our roots. The amount of youth at powwows keeps going up and up as the years go by, I can see it. especially the ones dancing and singing alongside me. These ones that dance and sing are the ones that will break out. There's no time for partying when they'd rather powwow. Making an outfit is no simple task. it took me a couple years to build my first one.

Insects have never really liked me to begin with, even back when I never used medicine or smudged. Insects don't really like my family if i'm perfectly honest. But yeah it smells good. Yes, we dance for the people, for the unfortunate ones who cannot dance. We put our able legs and able bodies to use and we pray through dance. however this doesn't mean we can't make competition out of it. I am dancing in this video, I have a pink regalia with white fringe. I'm easily findable by skipping to around 4 minutes in when the second song style starts (crowhop) and looking to the right of the screen.

When I was very young an elder sat me down with a mosquito trapped under a cup and told me to make a deal with it after he said a prayer in our language.
