I agree with you on this one. Timeout didn't do shit for me. I would enjoy twiddling my thumbs if it was all I had durring timeout. My parents tried rewarding me when I was good (which worked well) and would spank me when I was bad (which worked). My brother got more of the timeout and groundings. He's in prison now and he's a mouthy prick. He didn't get the same discapline I got be cause my parents divorced before he was old enough to start needing spankings. She always used the softy methods and it didn't do shit. He learned to act like it worked and ahe would feel like he learned his lesson, then she would let him off early. He learned he can get away with pretty much anything by age 10 or 11. It may work for some kids but not most. Now I have nothing against spankings or discipline. But I was actually beaten. I had to have my jaw welded back together and my nose put back on. So actual beating is shit and fucks up kids.
