I think what drives a lot of the skepticism and anger from flat earthers against mainstream science is a misunderstanding of the words theory and law in a scientific context. It goes something like this:

People observe things.
Scientists run experiments and take measurements.
They derive models that match the reality that is observed.
They test the models and modify/rewrite as newer information comes in.
Its as simple as that.

They are not "laws" in the sense that someone or some people got together and made shit up out of thin air-- they are not arbitrary like drug laws or at what age you are considered an adult. They are models that-- to the best of our current knowledge-- _describe_ what we observe in the natural world.

There are way too many things that count on the earth being curved. I've seen plenty of photo's of the earth from a distance that show it as being round. I have yet to see a photograph, even a well-doctored photograph of a flat earth.

Now I get that a person could believe that all photographs are distorted in some way, but come on. How does that person reject all space imagery as being distorted when not a single image even suggests the earth isn't round. You'd have to reject images of a flat earth too, for being distorted. But our cameras have made it all the way around the planet in all the different orbital inclinations. the photos from every angle look round.

Yes, we still had radio communications back then and those signals move at the speed of light (186,000 miles per second) so the delay is only a couple of seconds max.
