It's illegal that's why. A vetting process is fine, but trying to bar anyone from the United States is illegal. Anyone who tells you otherwise falls into one of three categories.
1.Theyre ignorant to the law.
2. They blindly support anything Trump does because they refuse to admit he is wrong.

Congress made it illegal 50 years ago after doing it with Asians for so long. Trying to ignore or reverse that isn't going to happen.

Make it a more in-depth vetting process; a ban for any amount of time, especially one that doesn't include countries known for funding terrorists (Saudi Arabia), is not going to happen, ever.
