"You aren't the only one to grow up on the killing fields. War is a cruel parent, but an effective teacher. Its final lesson is carved deep in my psyche: that this world, and all of its people, are diseased. Free will is a myth. Religion is a joke. We are all pawns of something even greater: memes, the DNA of the soul. They shape our will. They are the culture. They are everything we pass on. Expose someone to anger long enough, they will learn to hate. They become a carrier. Envy, greed, despair: all memes, all passed on. You can't fight nature, Jack. Wind blows, rain falls, and the strong prey upon the weak. Sam tells me you see your weapon as a "tool": something that saves lives, a means of justice. Now, there's a pretty meme! Exquisite! It spared you the burden of all the lives you've taken, absolved you of guilt when you enjoyed it."

It gets a lot of hate, but personally, I loved it. It had an open world that the previous game lacked, which was awesome, but on the downside, it had a really stupid leveling system, where you had to gain XP and level up to spend points to gain new abilities like double wall run and such.
Overall, I'd give it a solid 8.5/10, definitely worth getting if you can find it on sale, but I wouldn't pay full price for it anymore.
>>735602942
Wake up, we're here.
>>735613584
I heard that even the open world was lacking due to how the open world bits linked together, how it was just 5 or so chunks with one or two bridges linking each chunk to it's surroundings.

"Life isn't just about passing on your genes. We can leave behind much more than just DNA. Through speech, music, literature and movies... what we've seen, heard, felt... anger, joy and sorrow... these are the things I will pass on. That's what I live for. We need to pass the torch, and let our children read our messy and sad history by its light. We have all the magic of the digital age to do that with. The human race will probably come to an end some time, and new species may rule over this planet. Earth may not be forever, but we still have the responsibility to leave what traces of life we can. Building the future and keeping the past alive are one and the same thing." -Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

So there are about eight chunks, yes, and there are two actual bridges, but using parkour and the grappling hook you acquire a few chapters in, you eventually get about six or seven ways to traverse from area to area. Then there's the underground, which has two ways, an elevator, and a set of kind of slides and ladders and the like.
There's alos a whole bunch of really cool optional towers that you can climb to give this one savant girl named "Plastic" access to the entire digital system that runs the city, and those are a LOT of fun, but completely optional.
I've played through the game twice, and I'll likely be doing a third playthrough sometime soon.
One thing I REALLY didn't like though is that they've removed the ability to take enemy weapons. They're "ID locked" or whatever now, so you're down to just hand-to-hand parkour combat now. It's not a big deal, really, because only one kind of enemy actually has a gun, and only one other kind of enemy besides that uses any kind of ranged attacks, but it's still a bit of a disappointment, in my eyes.
