I just feel like tpab didn't seem put together enough. Kendrick didn't seem to build on/evolve the style and feel that made MC so great. Yeah same here, upon first listen I enjoyed most of the popular songs of the album. It took a while for the album to grow on me as a whole but once it started to, it took off exponentially. Earned the spot as my favorite rap album one night after listening to it while tripping. The album is a rollercoaster of ideas and emotions that to me just works together so beautifully making it an extremely well done album compared to albums that have tracklists of songs that are just all over the place in terms of sounds and ideas.

The only album that could be considered god tier by Eminem is the first Marshall Mathers LP. Man I was 17 about to go to college from my small podunk town. I was moving quite a ways away to a city way bigger than ours. When I left a friend gave me this album to help me be "cool" (I was mostly into metal) I show up and literally my whole floor of our dorm was black.
