Recommending psychedelic drugs as a treatment for depression and anxiety is some seriously bad advice. In order for these methods of treatment to be effective, a number of things have to take place, above all set and setting must be correctly assessed for maximum efficacy. Using psychedelics for treating depression and anxiety isn't as simple as "here, take this, it'll make you feel better" it's an entire process that must be properly guided and monitored by an experienced individual (trip sitter perhaps).


If you have depression and anxiety, those are already the two biggest predispositions for having a BAD trip, and a BAD trip and ruin you for life, magnify your depression and anxiety a thousand fold, really nasty stuff. If you're feeling bad, chances are you'll feel bad during the trip and it can lead to some very dark places if you're alone and nobody is around to help, or knows what's going on, or what you're going through etc. It's not a miracle cure, and you're still doing all the work yourself (imagine going to therapy for a year, condensed into one night. Therapy sessions usually aren't very pleasant and there will undoubtedly be uncomfortable moments during your trip, should it help with depression and anxiety).
