ITT TV show supporting characters that made the show better. I'll start.
C'mon man. Why go racial?
Tuvok was great, but let's be real here: things got better AFTER Kes was replaced.
Janitor from Scrubs. The actor was so good at constantly annoying JD and provided a fair amount of comic relief throughout the series.
Omg yes. Kes was so lame. Seven gave me so many early boners.
Star trek for the most part was really good with casting. A few bad choices were Kes from Voyager, Mayweather on Enterprise, troi on tng. ( I just don't think she was hot enough)
Can agree, short haired early 1st season Kes was fapping unbelievable. Then her story arc went south.
Yeah, saw that, kind of wonder if the writers knew something by making her character's species be short lived... Writing staff took one look at actress and said " sure she's cute now, but just over the horizon she's gonna get ugly
It's one of the reasons I don't want to suicide yet: A.I. wives and/or real-life holosuites where I can make this a reality.
The only reason I watched the last seasons of buffy, pic related.
I always thought that too.
The embodiment of this idea of yours OP
It took some time, but after a while, I really came to like Quark.
Of course data. He is probably one the best tv characters ever.
I find her strangely attractive. Surely I'm not the only one.
I really loved the "Rules of Acquisition"
Absolutely, but is he a supporting character or a main one? Kind of on the line I think, but if he qualifies, then so does Al Swearengen.
No, you are not alone.
Every scene with her is a good one.
Shame they failed to use the actress properly in Star Wars.
If you kill yourself right now I might forgive you posting a picture of that Penis nosed alien abomination.
looks like someone needs a visit from the ship's morale officer!
Jesse Pinkman was one of the two main characters, fuckhead. An awesome one but not a valid answer. This is the best SUPPORTING character from the show disapproving of your post.
From episode one of voyager and on, all I kept hoping was he would die horribly.
The penis nose did not help things. He was perhaps the most pointless and useless character of the show... next to Janeway.
>next to Janeway
Oh come on man, Janeway was the second best captain after Picard. Her voice was annoying but there was nothing else to dislike in my opinion. Unless you're just memeing on her because she's a woman.
For Christ's sake, EVERY character on that show was amazing, aside from FUCKING NEELIX.
He detracted so much from it, which is why I'm glad he was largely ignored in later seasons.
That's true. I think if Janeway was too hot she wouldn't be taken serious as Captain. Better than sisko and Archer. Sisko always seemed preachy and Archer seemed naive as fuck. Picard was on a whole nother level then the rest.
Mister Neelix, if you come anywhere close to my position I will not hesitate to meld your mind and show you things you couldn't conjure in your worst nightmares.
No, the woman in that show was her first officer.
I had no problems with her being a woman. as for being a captain, let me put it this way, of all the starfleet captains from the show, she made the most sense being moved into a admiral. She was more of a administrator, who, yes, did she the big picture of things but screwed her crew over and over and over again. I see her playing a great admiral because then she can expend ships and lives given the over scope of things. But as a captain, she did not look to the best interests of her ship or her crew.
The janitor from Scrubs was a great way to anchor the viewer and JD out of the hospital and back into "real life." There's more to life than just work, remember to have fun too.
>Janeway was the second best captain after Picard
Janeway was the only captain to ever outsmart the Q. Q kept Picard around because he thought he was funny. Q helped Voyager because he respected Janeway, well, as much as Q respects anything.
Picard was the most credible, believable captain. But couldn't hold a candle to James Tiberius in dont_give_a_fuck'ery.
I always liked chakotay. I never noticed Robert Beltran not giving a fuck. His episodes were always good. I liked it when he made out with Tom Paris.
Please state the nature of the medical emergency
>break warp 10 barrier
>oh fuck I'm mutating
>better kidnap Janeway then
>break warp 10 again
>turn into lizard
>Janeway turns into lizard
>land on planet and raise a family of lizard babies with lizard Janeway
>I'm not making this up
I can't believe there is another fan on this website.
I have loved that character my whole childhood. I still watch Fraiser at least once a week.
Doctor! Shall I whip you up a photonic snack?
Chakotay was not the worst character of the series, but I agree he was pretty flat, and I never liked listening to him talk. I never liked Riker much either, but at least he was more animated. Chakotay was supposed to be a fucking terrorist, and yet he was arguably the most boring character on the show . . . after Kim.
That ending was fucked up. Even the cast members hated it.
True story: A friend of the family helps to run a Christmas tree lot. About ten years ago this black guy comes in looking for a tree. She kind of feels like she recognizes him, but can't place him. Finally, she just asks, and he says he's Tim Russ, she might know him from Star Trek: Voyager. She's not really a fan, but she talks about me, huge fan since childhood, love every series. Not completely true, Voyager was okay at best, but he was friendly enough to ask for her address and mailed off a couple of autographed pictures, one a headshot, one a picture from him in that episode where he's a bartender in the holographic simulation when the ship is taken over. It was pretty cool.
Though I realized they did her up like a Disney princess most of the time.
Had they given that hair, makeup, and neckline to a Scandinavian blonde instead of a Greek beyitch, would have gazzed my eyeballs out
It's a pedophile thing. Consider what board we're on and how many pedos are obsessed with star trek, what do you expect?
I don't know why star trek in particular attracts pedos but it does.
Anyway the best supporting character is definitely Baal from Stargate SG-1. He starts out as just a standard basic goauld villain but turns into so much more than that, even going as far as allying (kind of, and temporarily) with earth.
>And were there even any "Neelix episodes"?
A lot of the early Kes episodes were more like Neelix episodes, and there were a few about needing food and shit that he had a big role in.
>Anyway the best supporting character is definitely Baal from Stargate SG-1
I never cared for him to be honest
But then I only really liked the four original main characters on that show.
>Star Wars fans in here
Since you guys are already fags, here's a question - is this gay?
I don't care how autistic this sounds, but it seems like every time it comes up that somebody I know dislikes Star Trek, I later come to find out some far worse shit about them. Like it's almost a red flag for me. People worth keeping around like fucking Star Trek, man.
Sisko is worst Captain of all life.
Litetally makes hit calls every chance he gets.
Its ok fo him, jadzit, worf, ezri, his Girlfriend, Quark, to comit crimes and awol all the time, BUT NOT OBRIEN, NOT EVER.
Obrien sucks nigger balls and bootlicks sisko while forgetting he used to be on the Enterprise.
Worf is now a faggot.
Jadzia is shit actress and shit character. Station eyepiece.
Kira "Wahhhhh stop oppressing my people" if you dont agree With me its because you love to murder my people.
Need I go on?
even if you didn't like his character they did get a lot of pretty good baal/ball jokes out of him, so I think either way he was a positive addition to the show. Plus you have to give him respect for actually being pragmatic and not just "durr i'm pure EVIL" over the top villains like Anubis/Sokar.
Still a better episode than "Spock's Brain."
You know, you're right, it wasn't that great when I look at it now, but it was better than almost every other fucking sci-fi series ever made. Most are pure dystopian shit mixed with military propaganda written for 12yos. Not a lot of interesting ethical dilemmas to work out. Just same old lame ass tribalism we see in every other fucking action movie ever made.
I watched all three original Star Wars movies recently for the first time since I was 8 too. Those were truly great to see, but striking how cheezy they were.
Globe defenders remain in total denial and utter disbelief that their government officials and establishment would ever lie to them on such a grand scale... when the Truth is in plain sight for those with eyes to see. What if we had a "rehearsal" of the president's assassination?? The FBI and CIA would be kicking in your door before you had the chance to Act this scene out. Yet, these Crisis Actors have been playing the world for Fools this entire time with all these staged False Flag attacks!! Sandy Hook, Aurora, Boston Bombings, Paris, Orlando.. ALL STAGED. Do you see what is going on here?? Crisis actors rehearsed this terror attack inside the Trafford Centre, which is Manchester's largest shopping mall last year May 10th, 2016. Just one year later and a similar incident happens in the same city.. Coincidence?? The world being placed over your eyes has been completely Manufactured by Agents of Terror.. You are being Lied to about everything from this establishment. You are also being lied to about your place in this universe, the very shape of your realm, and how important you are. People have actually been convinced that you are the ancestor of Apes and you are flying around at Ludicrous speeds in a vacuum of infinite nothingness on a tiny dot of insignificance. How convenient for their RULE that people have been persuaded to accept this B.S. You make it SOOOOO easy for them to DOMINATE your consciousness Globe heads. The Earth in not a result of some random explosion out of nothingness, and you are a Divine Being of Creation. Yet while I set you free of such disempowered programming, most of you will flagrantly Defend your littleness and Monkey mind because you've been trained to accept your fate as a random accident born of nothing. Amazing how easy the human mind is to manipulate. All the World's a Stage..
Obrien was a fucking G get rekt
like dont get me wrong he was def a cuck, his kid was 100% asian and he was white, but he was in the fuckign trench, not enlisted but kept fucking going, getting the JOB FUCKING DONE
he infiltrated the FUCKING ORION SYNDICATE faster than any other starfleet op ever
he beat Garak at his own fucking game, dude is unstopable
dude was a strait gangster
not really. He was around in some form of another from season 6 to the end, including one of the movies (the only good one TBH). Maybe he wasn't as much of a global threat as often as Anubis or Apophis, but he was still a top tier goauld.
Fargate was an expensive in-joke at best.
I actually thought the Fargate main cast (I like that) was pretty good. I mean they were never going to be able to properly replace Daniel/O'Neill/Carter/Teal'c but they did about as good a job as they could have been expected to do. What caused the show to really go downhill at that point were the villains. The Ori and the Priors were a dumb concept and they were just painful to fucking watch. Just no imagination at all in that writing. I really wanted the Goa'uld back in those last couple of seasons.
I've been looking for that episode again. Somehow it's missing from my set.
That was the one episode I actually liked from that series. It's like after doing fuck all with the whole series, the writers finally tried to do something interesting. Granted it was horrendous, and didn't belong in Star Trek, but that's the kind of out-there crap I actually want to see in a futuristic Sci-Fi serial where anything could/should happen.
SGA is way ahead of SGU for me, if not for story at least for characters. The sheppard/mckay relationship alone is far more memorable than anything from SGU. I can't really even remember many of the characters besides the fat kid and the russian guy on sgu.
The Original Series really wasn't that good. It did have some good characters and some good episodes, lots of redeeming qualities, but overall it was mediocre at best. And it had some REALLY shitty episodes, too.
But TNG, VOY, and DS9 were all top notch, especially TNG. They still had some bad episodes (like every show), but they were generally very high quality.
The movies were obviously hit-and-miss, but it's hard to dislike the first couple at least, and I think 4 was also really fun (if a bit campy), while 6 was fair enough. I can't recommend the rest unfortunately.
Look, I'll have you know I'm smarter than all of the supporting characters listed in here.
>Star Wars fans in here
Holy Hell, this feeling. When did I last feel it? A decade ago, no, two! I don't know what's coming over me- I don't-
>GOD Mom, it's Star TREK! Star WARS is a piece of low-concept sci-fantasy corporate CRAP that only serves as SPIELBERG and LUCAS' retirement fund! I can't BELIEVE how you don't get that! This is almost as bad as when you got me a lightsaber last Christmas, I SPECIFICALLY ASKED for a Klingon Bat'tleth, which translates to "Honor Blade" in the mughato’ tongue. GOD.
>Yes, I want more pizza rolls, though.
>i love you too mom
Kira was a little bitch for sure, and you hated her, but that's because the writers meant for her to be a little bitch
good writing imo
did you know she was supposed to fuck Dukat? but she refused, threatened to quit, so they wrote the episode where he dukat fucks her mom lol
SGU was more modern, had a good feel to it
SGA was OK, but I feel like it never took off, something was always missing imo
The sheppard/mckay relationship was pretty good though, I can't deny that.
DS9 was alright, but honestly I couldn't stand the overacting of Sisko sometimes and his weird spergy obsession with baseball, and all the Bajoran stuff just bored the shit out of me. If it wasn't an episode with some kind of action like the Dominion episodes I didn't really enjoy it much.
You missed my point retard.
When HE went after the syndicate sisko put his dick is his mouth and obrien said THANK YOU SIR SIRRY SIR.
But ezri steals a shuttkecraft? Ok.
Kira goes unhinged and tries to kill cardassian, ok.
Cassidy gunruns, ok
Jadzia abuses power? Ok old man
Even sisko defies admiral and commits many crimes, military and domestic.
Obrien goes off to fight the syndicate?
OBRIEN YOU AR NAUGHTY I AM DISSAPOINT, WILL MARK YOUR SERVICE RECORD.
FUCK YOU FOR DEFENDING AN A CLASS FAILURE CAPTAIN NIGGER.
We could start a new thread solely to argue about this, but for me it's TNG > DS9 > VOY > TOS > ENT
The only thing about this that gets me a little triggered is if someone suggests that any of the others is better than TNG. Other than that, it's whatever.
>I couldn't stand the overacting of Sisko sometimes and his weird spergy obsession with baseball
100% agree, and his whole character arc was incredibly lacking despite the huge time they poured into it.
>all the Bajoran stuff just bored the shit out of me.
100% disagree, the Bajoran arc was one of the best parts of the series.
Sisko was supposed to be "a normal guy" - he really didn't have the qualities of a starfleet captain. Picard, Kirk, fuck even Kathryn mutha'fuckin Janeway were captains.
Sisko was .. a commander. Really he was, but he had the profits at his back so he got shit done. He wouldn't have been promoted if it wasn't for the profits.
The problem with this thread is none of you appreciate GENIUS.
All these so called trekfags and no one posting based Combs
How about that episode where the Doctor had to massage Kes's feet so that she could get pregnant? She was already a short hair QT but If that didn't awaken something inside me...
he wasn't that into it, he was less into basball than any game i've met was into games
but again, thats why he wasn't a captain, he was a commander. he wasn't focused enough o be a captain.
oh get over it. TNG was shit boring most of the time
TNG is 80% 5/10s 15% 2/10s and 5% 7-10s
Even Voyager has more 7/10 episodes. Even with Threshold
