Anyone ever listen to old video game music? Sometimes, when the pain of living becomes a bit too overwhelming, I play old Zelda music. I remember sitting around with my brothers and playing this when I was younger. I still play Zelda from time to time (everything up until after Majora's Mask).
Post your favorite video game music.

Music is a powerful thing, it can be absolutely terrible or it can invoke our deepest emotions, relax our bodies and free our minds.

i think its crazy how universal music is. its been around for thousands and thousands of years, always changing. every culture has music. every person likes at least one song.
i wouldnt be suprised if aliens had something similar to music.

have a good one.
I'm a huge fan of chiptunes. I have a few CDs, and met a couple chiptune artists. I sat through a seminar on how it's made, but I'm not musically inclined enough to make it myself.
Check out Kohina.net. It's an online station that I sometimes listen to for hours. Music on there ranges from Atari music up through the SNES.

No, idea, but it's damn good.

reminds me of when i was 5 years old and had 0 worries and responsibilities. a time where you just love everyone and want to play and have fun. a time where being bored was the worst thing that can ever happen.
im so lucky to have had a decent childhood. i lived in a garage but i didnt even know until years after we all had moved. seeing how some kids grow up working at 10, being mothers to their brothers and sisters at 12. its so sad. i have no idea how my mom afforded a damn nintendo 64. these memories remind me of how damn blassed i am.

And lastly my all time favorite, without par.

Let me respond to this once again. This reminds me of winter. I imagine foot-steps on a cold, snowy night. The sky is bright, as the moon's light reflects from the snow. The stars are shining brightly. I look to the sky, and I imagine a time when men were free - free from an over-arching government. Free from technology. Free to deal amongst other men, either in trade or in battle, without government interference. The world was a mystery still, and the spirit of the Transcendent manifested itself in all objects one encounters in the phenomenal realm. And when I perish from this world, into the next, I will perish with dignity, in nature, in my village, in the presence of my family - a brightly lit fire lights the room, and when it burns out, there remains the ashes, from which new life is conceived. There are my thoughts.

There's something about the Link's Awakening OST that makes me feel really alone. I can almost remember being five years old listening to it, too. Almost. Maybe the only thing I share with that person is how I feel when I listen to these. How has this much time passed?
>>734285322
its a little intense.
>>734285538
Yeah, I get this. That game - a great game actually - is quite strange. The music certainly creates that mood.
>>734285538

Chrono Trigger has fantastic music throughout, but this is easily my favorite.
I remember playing the game in the mid 90s and just leaving the game on in Zeal to listen to the music.
I use the extended loop to relax, read, during work.

Old for me is just like "I wish I was a boy again who could just play games and imagine how neat the future is gonna be" because the future turned out to just be working and missing my dead parents
https://youtu.be/RrbPftHQJNM
That feeling when I listen to this. Got it before going on vacation and playing it every chance I had while camping.
>>734285910
Yep, thats the time of game music that kept me up at night when i was 7.
