Please help My cat brought home a baby bunny I don't think he's badly injured because he fought like hell when I tried to bring him inside He's very touchy though How do i take care of this thing Pic related
>>734082352 id say put it outside and let nature take its course but chances are if the poor bastard did find its mom she'd just reject it because it smells nothing like her offspring anymore so it'll probably just starve to death, or get killed by your asshole cat. so good job getting involved and saving it. some motherfucker is always trying to ice skate uphill.
>>734082491 Thanks dude I'll see what I can do >>734082516 I already have and I'm on a cocktail of narcotics, doesn't have anything to do with helping a little furry friend down on his luck. >>734082569 I'LL TRY AND FIND ITS MOTHER
>>734082119 don't feed it carrots, just empty calories to a bunny or some shit. put it in its box, keep it away from your cat, give it the opportunity to get outside. it will be in shock, you standing over it with your dick out isn't helping. leave it well alone for an hour and when you come back it will either have hopped off or died. if its still there call animal hospital i guess. or make a stew.
>>734082119 >Please help >My cat brought home a baby bunny >I don't think he's badly injured because he fought like hell when I tried to bring him inside >He's very touchy though >How do i take care of this thing >Pic related Try /an/ like some anon mentioned before. Also good on you for helping, ignore these heartless cunts. Good luck!
A nice hot hot bath. Rabbits need calories quick which they absorb best through the skin, so dice some carrots, celery and garlic and chuck those in with it. For best effect, remove the fur first. Season to taste.
>>734083130 >>734083224 and? if you don't have the necessities to take care of a rabbit, kill it or let nature do its purpose
rather let it go/end its life than to live with someone who doesn't seem to be committed to taking care of animals. rabbits are usually 'easy' to care for but if you're not home all the time that rabbit will wish it was dead. and i'm sure you wouldn't want to waste money on an animal that strives on reproducing a shit ton of themselves
>>734083344 if the shelter is known to having a lot of rabbits (which is highly likely), OP shouldn't do it since the rabbit might get euthanized. unless OP is fine with the rabbit being peacefully put down
>>734083365 Here you go anon Cutting up a mix of veggies for it now >>734083798 The problem is this is exactly what's going to happen. She found their home and used to bring me them 2+ a day. Although they were always critically injured
OP, straight answer here nothing crule or unusual. As someone who worked in a vet office for a while i can probably offer a bit of help.
First don't touch it a lot, i know it is cute and fun to hold but these animals are very prone to being scared to death, especially the small ones.
Next wash the fuck out of your hands, it is a bad year for Tularemia. Also if you like your cat get it checked too. You might not get it but it is better to be safe than sorry.
Third don't feed small rabbits carrot chunks, they cant eat them. Feed them the tops of carrots, grass and dandelions (especially these because they have i high moisture content).
Lastly steel yourself for its impending death. Most small rabbits like the one you have are not the best at living in captivity. They do not recover from injury well either. They are prone to getting sick quickly and even with the best of care your chances are slim.
Good luck. I will stick around for a little bit if you have any questions.
that really sucks balls dude. and it sucks even more that you can't tell your cat to stop, this is sort of why i prefer my cats inside than out. once my cat brought a mouse without us knowing and my dog almost ate it lol.
Keep the grass fresh and the litter changed. If it should live through the next 12 hours or so it will be up to you if you want to keep it. A vet would probably tell you to let it go but I am probably going to say if you do its chance of survival is lower than in your house.
One other thing if you take a real close look at it and you see little black beetles on it crawling around you can kind of assume it is sick. Rabbits are generally "cleaner" than other rodents and the beetles would show that it is not taking care of itself; I would say that is a good indicator that it is sick.
If it lives think about giving it a small sip of pineapple juice. Not a lot since it is a diarrhetic, but it is like candy to them.
>>734082119 Bring it to an animal doctor and let it check. Feed him veggies but no cabbage (pretty bad for them. Carrots, fennel and celery is a safe thing to go. More important is hay hay, ha and normal water. After hes better release him again tl the wild, wild rabbits arent ment as a pet
>>734084126 >>734084450 Absolutely not >>734084947 COPY THAT SIR THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING >>734085075 I gave it carrots, celery, moist grass, romaine lettuce, and green bell peppers >>734085174 You have no idea, it brought home a huge bunny One time which I assumed was the mother
