Rozen Maiden

Definitely Hunter x Hunter. It's one of the best shonen out there. After watching that I'm pretty sure you'll look back and see how bad stuff like SAO and Fairy Tale are.

None of those series are particularly long either

Food Wars is a definite must at the moment. Gave in and finally watched it and I regret not watching it sooner.

death note --> very good (only the first season though)
naruto shippuden --> very good start then only average over time
no game no life --> have not watched it
sword art online --> bad
bleach --> good start then gets worse over time
toyko ghoul --> very good if you are in an angsty edgy phase
so basically you have not touched the legendary animes yet and there are still a ton of very good ones out there
