The western end of Scandanavia is also open to contention, as I suggested by mentioning the Shetlands previously. (Now British, formerly Danish.) Greenland is considered to be part of the Nordic countries but not the Scandanavian countries … but it was settled by Norwegians.

Wikipedia and "google ffs" only reflect what is currently believed by people who spend their time redacting what other people have written. I don't find that approach to be particularly compelling. I feel that the distinction between Scandanavia and Nordic to be forced, imprecise, and priggish, most likely the result of Denmark/Norway/Sweden wanting to impose their cultural hegemony on the region.
