Yeah the vet seemed to think it was kidney failure and that even with treatment, she wouldn't last for too much longer, so I had her put to sleep. I didn't have the money anyway. First pet I've ever had put down. It was fast, and I was glad that she didn't suffer.

pretty sure my cat 14-year-old has oral cancer. i googled it. he has this pea-sized growth on his cheek that occasionally bleeds.

he can't eat dry cat food. and even with wet cat food, he mostly only likes the gravy.

i'm too poor for a vet. i think i should just take him to be euthanized to end his suffering, and that's way past due.

My cat died a couple of months ago. Didn't put him down, he died of hypothyroidism even though he was getting medicine.

Died in my arms. On the plus side, it only took him like 4 minutes to die. I've had other cats that stopped breathing and then it took 15 minutes for their heart to stop.

I'm sorry. There are real jackasses in my neighborhood. I lost 2 cats to bad drivers. Another one to cancer and another one to a heart attack. But what really ripped me apart was the death of a 4 year old. Poisoned from a tiny flea. Pets man, they make you love them, and then they die. I don't think I'll ever get another one. Maybe if my kid wants one. They taught me more about love than anything.

I had to do the same thing for my childhood pet of 15 years. I was all alone for it too, family was on vacation while I was working and it drained my bank account to have him put down because it was an overnight emergency vet.

I held him as he shuddered a bit, and left him wrapped in his favourite blanket. I buried him under the maple tree in our home. Found a nice big rock to put on the grave so no coyotes would dig him up.

I feel you man, I had to put my cat down three weeks ago, still miss her, won't probably ever stop missing her.

Her name was Stumpan, adopted her from an animal shelter, and she didn't have a tail, so someone had probably cut it off or something.
She had FIP, and every day she got more and more ill, so she was at the vet's for 5 days, then got to come home friday-sunday, and on monday she got put down.

Recently got a note saying I could pick up her ashes.

I still have her favorite toy.

This is my cat Midnight. Got him when I was 10. (27 now)

>kept in a garage for the time
>got into bad things in the garage and almost died
>Midnight survived, Cancer, antifreeze, ulcerations of the ears and head, had bones broken in his face, and got more poisoned by a shit vet who gave him too much med, and he beat cataracts as well.

The ending results of all this gave him cloudy eyes but can still see fine, fucked up looking ears but still hears ok, and he beat everything and every vet told us he would not make it to 6 months.

17 YEARS LATER

he is still going strong.

I told him not too long ago that if he is in pain or suffering in some way and has a chance to go, to just go and be in that better place. He has exceeded all expectations.

Midnight is and will be my only cat. Because no other cat will ever be as kind hearted and dedicated as this nigger.

It sucks when you lose a best pet friend. Sorry OP

Pissed and shit everywhere. Ruined some expensive shit in the process. He got out one day, never came back. We think he got eaten. We have been happier since.

I had a cat. Easily scared, but a good cat. I had it for 2 or 3 years. One day all of a sudden he got sick. That afternoon you could really tell he was in pain. He would just stay put and close his eyes, trembling. The next day, he was gone.

I had a cat named Morle that hit the glorious age of 22.

She's been with me almost my whole childhood. One day she became lethargic and did not left her sleeping place for food. Next day she puked blood. Fuck, no! She saw my tears and desperate face and crawled over to me and wanted being hold. So I hold her while she was looking into my eyes. She purred despite the pain she must have been in. And then she blinked and stopped purring, going limp in my arm. One last gasp with some blood and she was a goner.

Damn, the memories! Now I'll get drunk...
