I came to 4chan about a year ago hearing about all the crazy and hilarious green text stories thinking /b/ would be full of them. What I found was nothing but gay, furry, trap, cock rates, pics you shouldn't share, etc. threads. And besides the rare thread that's actually really funny that's all I've seen, and when I find that rare post i try to share some of the memes I found on it with my friends. I'll say, "Hey, I found this really funny thing on 4chan," and minus the few friends I have that use 4chan will all say, "Don't go on 4chan," or, "Eww! Isn't that a porn site?" I was never able to experience the "golden age" of 4chan, but someone brought up tha before it was a bunch of adults making all the posts and porn threads were a taboo, and these adults moved on, and all the underage users came on. They saw a canvas ehere they could paint whatever that want and not be judged, thus a select few horny teenagers started making porn threads. Without the adults there to blow off the porn threads with their own funny posts, people made more and more and more until /b/ devolved into what it is now. But I hope someday the horny teenagers will grow up, and perfer to make funny posts, and said funny posts would have massive popularity on the site, and some of the old users will see it and say, " Hey, that guy made a funny post and everyone liked it, why don't I? And the classic style threads of 4chan may yet return. But of course, there is the possibility that some of the still young users will see this and start trying to make their own "original" and "funny" posts. And since most of the traffic on this site is from adolescents a majority of the posts would either be reposts of the same funny posts that have long since gotten old due to extensive overuse or a dumb meme idea that nobody cares about. I fear that even if 4chan were to return to the "golden days" the adolescent culture of having to be popular would bring it 4chan down to the ranks of ifunny.
