Cool! Last year a guy had one for sale locally that he said ran and drove. Body looked super clean, I was not able to get by to check it out since I was traveling for work at the time.

Not practical for me to have and use, but would be an interesting car to hobby drive. I always liked my newer MB diesels, but I have no idea what it would be like owning one that old!

Seems like the Pontons are not super desirable, so the prices are reasonable.

No, I live in typical suburbia. My neighborhood is a little older, houses built in the 1970s so the lots are a little larger. I'm also on a corner and my house is sort of oddly placed on the lot(big front yard and small back yard).

It means I have a 6 car driveway, 2 car garage, plus river rock on can park on next to the driveway for another 2-3 cars, and my side yard has a large gate so I can park about 3 more cars there.

Plus enough street parking for about 6-7 cars along my property. Plenty of space for my hobby, but thats also why I bought the house. There are also lots of nearby homes that only have a 2 car driveway and a 2 car garage, with almost no street parking. I was not interested in that when I was looking to buy a house.

Oh I'm very familiar with all the similar styles. Minilite is the original, and there are countless others. Watanabe is different enough that I consider it a different design (curved pipes instead of curved bananas if you follow).

Yes, there are 3-piece. I'd prefer monoblock, but this is the best I could do.

2000 Ford Contour I bought used 15 years ago for $4000. Had 40k miles on it when I bought it, nearly at 250k now and the only non-maintence wear&tear repairs I've had to deal with is a couple alternators and 1 busted piston spring.
