Back in 2013 Sierra Nevada had a failure in the landing gear of the dream chaser spacecraft during an unmanned flight test. The video cut out right before it touched down. They claimed there was some minor damage. I never actually saw the video but folks I new who did said it was quite spectacular, with the spacecraft tumbling over and over, pieces flying everywhere etc. Anyone who was found in possession of the entire video would be immediately fired. There were a lot of other things about that spacecraft that were very shady, with very poor quality controls and design practices.

Your flight didn't get cancelled due to weather. There's an equal chance it got cancelled because of maintenance issues, staffing, or scheduling problems. If there's a cloud in the sky at either airport they will just code it as a weather cancellation so the airline doesn't have to buy you a hotel room/meal vouchers.

The managers and supervisors at most major chain hotels steal the tips you leave for the cleaners and demand any money that they are seen receiving directly on security cameras. If you want to tip one, the best thing to do when is tell your cleaner where you've hidden a tip so that the supervisors can't find it.

tl:dr; polls and study stats are shit I makeup.

I work in market research and do quality and assurance. I essentially review all of the data our interviewers collect from respondents. Aside from that I also edit the data so it makes sense because some people say wild things. I also recode responses and often replace open ended responses with what I feel is appropriate.
Surveys that were ended too soon due to the respondent hanging up I go into those and complete them. I don't even call the respondent back I literally put whatever I want.
We do surveys for political issues like upcoming elections, customer satisfaction studies, and for colleges/universities. We even have a reoccurring study that collects data from people who were impacted from the BP oil spill. We recently picked up a job the IRS wants us to conduct too.
It really opened my eyes to look at where data comes from and how honest that company is who collected and validated the data.

Formally worked on an AT&T project, still work for the component manufacturer AT&T uses to run its networks.
AT&T works closely with the NSA, more so than other carriers. T-Mobile is a German company so they don't work with them directly, they get their traffic spied on too but by their backhaul providers working with the NSA. AT&T deals with the NSA directly. I've seen their fiber taps in many of their cell sites.

Booking a hotel room through a travel website is a bad idea about 100% of the time. If you actually want to get the best deal you should check the price through whatever website you like (almost all of them are actually expedia anyway), then call the hotel and ask if they can beat it. They will 100% of the time.
The booking company charges about a 30% commission, so on a $200 a night booking the hotel only makes $140. So if you call and say "This website is selling me the room for $200 a night, can you beat that?" They will almost always say yes and give it to you for $180, its an extra $40 in their pocket and you save $20.

Family and pop restaurants are almost always filthy and filled with diseased degenerates who abuse the food like crazy. You should always eat at home. Just a misunderstanding, friend. Family restaurants are not family-owned restaurants. They are place like olive garden.

Also, unless you live in a purple or blue state, your health department doesn't mean shit. I see filthy restaurants with people that never wash their hands and leave the same food out all day at room temperature that have perfect health department reports in MS and LA. Go somewhere nicer and the health department MIGHT catch 20% of the bullshit that goes on in restaurants.

I'm sure this is old news by now, but I used to work at McDonalds, and I think everybody should know that the Big Mac and the McDouble are the SAME EXACT SANDWICH with different toppings. Both sandwiches use 1/10 pound patties. A "Big" Mac is literally 1/5 a pound of meat. If you order a McDouble, you can pay an extra, like, 80 cents for them to put Mac Sauce and lettuce on it, and you'll get literally the same sandwich for half the price. Please spread this. I cofounded a consumer electronics company. Very small, not one you've heard of, but I've learned a lot about how business is conducted.

We say our products are "made in america", but it's only partially true. Most of the components come from China, it's just assembly that happens here. Two reasons why we're "shipping jobs to China":

1) Just as an example, one of our components used to cost over $30 from an American supplier. From China? Under $8. Similar margins across the board. You cannot beat China's manufacturing costs.

2) Some of the shit simply isn't available from the US, at all, period. We just don't have manufacturers for certain electronic parts anymore. They just aren't here. We *have* to get it from China because that's the only place it comes from.

Less concrete thing, but this is what I've learned from my own experiences and my friends who are professionals (doctors, engineers, accountants, etc). Most, in fact the vast majority of decisions made by professionals, are just "pretty accurate guesses". Nothing is set in stone, in most cases there are no black and white rules. An engineer friend who works for a satellite company was doing tests on spring tension, and they were only concerned with getting the right order of magnitude. Not "10% error", "0.5% error". They just wanted to right number of fucking zeros.

tl;dr people think the world is organized, rule-bound, exact, and controlled. In the vast majority of cases, it isn't anywhere near exact. Ultimately every decision made, anywhere, is made by a person. Always keep that in mind.

The procedure at the end of the assembly line for a US car manufacturer is similar. It's basically...

Dude gets in the car and starts it, makes sure all the warning lights go out, revs the engine a few times.

Puts it in Drive, drives it over a concrete pavement with about 1/2" ropes stretched across it, spaced a few inches apart. If any shit falls off of the outside or inside of the car, or he hears any weird noises, the car goes back for rework.

If all is OK with that, he drives it to the assigned spot and parks it in the parking lot.

That's it.

Pilot with a major Asian carrier here. Just about every pilot I know has spotted UFOs at some point crossing the Pacific Ocean, flying relatively low, maybe 10,000 feet higher than our cruising altitude. But faster than a plane, insanely faster, like a slow motion lighting bolt.

You'll see the odd retired pilot talk about it, but it's strict airline policy not to discuss UFOs in the media because it invites ridicule and potentially scares customers.

You can survive an audit unscathed with Microsoft Word or Photoshop. This definitely goes for IRS audits too.
The pressure to complete assignments quickly means we auditors hardly look at the documentation provided in detail. Missing an invoice? Make one. Missing a receipt? Make one. Missing a resale or exemption certificate? Make one. Literally any documentation we look at can be faked. Seriously. We don't verify. Make sure you back date them though, we do look at dates.
*Does not apply to audits conducted by anyone not working for a government agency. Those fuckers bill hourly and will (should) look at and verify everything.
Also if you get caught, it's fraud so don't get caught.

I was to learn how to split my soul from my body without dying, and exist in two planed of existence. Our normal plane.

And another plane where different entitys live.

Im am ecstatic.
I heard rumors among peers about this but never knew it was true.

Then out of nowhere something yanked at me and then i was floating in air looking at myself.

It was the most free feeling i ever had.

At first i checked to see if this was real.

I went downstairs to check in my wife.

She was there getting ready for her night out with friends.

Then i flew to my parents house. And they were both watching family fued.

At that moment i knew this was real.

I'm not sure you'd necessarily realize what you've seen from a passenger window. You'd probably think it was some kind of sun effect in your window. I have a much bigger window, which I'm looking out for hours on end every other day. There's no plastic layer to distort light.

Imagine a hairline crack in the glass, above your head at about 45 degrees, and you catch a flash of reflected sunlight streak from one side to the other in less than a second. That's what we're talking about. Not some kind of saucer with little green men waving out the window at you.

The first couple of time you see it, that's what you think it is. But then you realize the sun is in completely the wrong position for that.

Surprise! For the giveaways the winner is not usually whatever number caller we said it'd be. It's just one of the random phone lines we pick. Sorry to ruin that free concert you went to. I know now you're questioning who should have won the tickets, if you had less fun at the concert than the real winner would have had, if you are less lucky than you thought you were, what other things in your life you've considered wins have been lies, and if you even deserve to win anything anymore, and if anyone loves you, and I'm sorry but it was really just too inconvenient for us at the station to count to 9.

Okay, I'm talking about a flash of bright light above your eyeline (it's higher than the plane), that crosses the planes path in a split second. The first thing that occurs to you is some kind of defect in the glass that's reflecting the sun, but that doesn't make sense once you process it. And you only see it once, but the next time you see it, it makes you wonder.

This isn't something you can video. It's not going to be very convincing. I can confirm this much: it's flying; It's an object; and it's not being identified.

I didn't realize it was a commonly observed phenomena until I mentioned it to other pilots.

It was a post high planar being (meaning either angel or demon) they litterally stood there not staring at them but me.

Chinese authorites broke in. Someone yelled my name.
Then i returned to my body.

To this day i get goosebumps think about it all. I am always paranoid because the entity was not looking at the ones who called it it was looking at me.

Belive me or not its all true. Not like it matters i am glad to have someone to tell someone about it.

Okay I understand now. Thanks for the second explanation. I wish you had a better glimpse, though it confirms half of what they say in ufo documentaries mentioning pilots

I had an experience once, I was walking down the road and on the horizon I see what looks like 6-7 stars, though it's still an hour or two until dark, and they're moving towards me. Before I get a few more.blocks down the road, it seems instead of being in the horizon they're just above me to the left and down a little. I seen a crackhead and asked her to confirm what I was seeing. Eventually made it down a few blocks, make a right so I'm now in a neighborhood and not in a main road, so there isn't as good a view of the sky. I make one last look up and it seems like one doubled back, I can't remember now how high it was relevant to the radio tower in view, but I'm sure it was lower and the "Rays" that made it seem like a star were more visible. I almost want to say the center was shaped like something I want to say humanoid but they may be influenced from ufo videos.

I know this isn't relevant to the thread but to what you said. Everything is true and recalled as best I could stoned. At the time I was sober for months but it could still be easily explained by other phenonem

> What country are you in?

Amerifag.

> All major airports have mechanics and " garages" (hangars) nearby ready to fix it anyways.

They can fix minor fuckups at most airports, sure. But if there's a major fuckup, they aren't going to fly a tech, his tools, and all the parts he might need to the fuckup... they're going to bring the fuckup to him.

In theory, it doesn't fly if it doesn't meet the MEL. If the MEL says you need two radios and you have two out of three working, it can fly.

In practice, sometimes non-mechanics "try shit" to get something working (turn it off and back on, smack the fucker), or pretend not to notice that it's X'd out / the flags are up until after they get in the air, so they can go to the destination anyway.

Well me and my colleagues have been a group of broke nerds obsessed with aliens since we met and probably before then on an individual basis. 4 years ago we started picking up highly organized patterns with our radio towers, like the Wow! signal only repeating and not nearly as powerfully. The patterns turned out to be a series of the first 244 prime numbers in base 12. at first we really didn't take it seriously but we started going through the procedure of phoning various government/scientific agencies including SETI, who confirmed that they were also receiving the signal. after that we sort of hit a roadblock but we continued recording the transmission. on of my colleagues noted that the "sound" of the bits of data was slightly different over the repetitions. its not really a sound just a recording of the radiowaves banded down and modulated to make a sort of clone out of vibrations. Anyways we found out that by using the much finer and powerful instruments available at SETI that within the individual pulses of data there was a very highly organized structure of smaller faster pulses. so we spent about 6 months working out what the fuck it was. it turned out to be a very lossless encryption algorithm which has since been sold to the public and the key was just the prime numbers. decoding that we found the structure of mathematics and a type of image. the image was of various electronic components which the engineers recognized immediately and explained where the pieces to a physical data sorting device, like a transcoder ring. once we had run the original transmission loop through it we began getting pages and pages and pages of language, fortunately a couple of us where fluent in Chinese. Cont.

Work at a level 1 trauma center hospital. Will tell you now if your loved one is going to die have the funeral home director take them take them directly from the room. At least where I am at they generally have the techs or patient monitors handle the deceased and get them ready for our in house storage refrigerator prior to pick up. Generally it's a bunch of disrespectful niggers touching your loved ones body with no care or consideration. I've had to go into the fridge before and have seen the bodies stacked on top of on another when they run out of room. Unless you are about to die and even then nursing staff is more worried about their phones then about your health. If your loved one has any type of dementia you better take all their shit home and are better off staying with them because they will be treated like shit by a decent portion of staff. They will kill your dying father with morphine, they will lie to the doctor about how the patient has been acting and other general patient info, they will fuck up with potentially serious things and shrug it off in hopes that you don't notice. Psych patients and drug addicts generally get treated worse than anyone else, and if the cops bring in a drunk they often get treated like the psych patients in that they are treated as less than human. If two years at a hospital taught me anything it's to never go to a hospital unless they drag you there. Of course this is only where I worked and I'm sure other places are different. There's more I could write but this is getting long.

I agree fully!
Removing the cowling on my '85 monte I had to use three different sockets.
Two were metric.
Mfw 9/16 is too small and 5/8 is too big.
I finally just bought a set of gook tools.
(I realize the ENTIRE world uses them, but my grandfather always called metric 'gook tools' so I do too)

Within the text they explained that one of their probes designed to hunt around the nearby galaxy for precious metals picked up a broadcast of the 1936 summer olympics approximately 81 light years away which to them seemed to be a distress call from one of their much older ships. they where intrigued about the life of Hitler and didn't seem nearly as upset about his life as we all feared, although the could have been and we just didn't know. enclosed in their documentation which was being relayed through their probe where examples of various societies they had encountered throughout the galactic community including their own. they highlighted the pitfalls of a society with the power to destroy their own planet and the methods they would use in our place to rearrange society to make our species as a whole more capable of handling the responsibilities of the technology we wield.

the aliens themselves dont seem to care either way, the reason its not publicly known is more about the fear governmental bodies have of it ruining our chances to convert our society smoothly or maybe its a weird power play. i dont really know but there are definitely examples of government officials like the canadian minister of defence trying to go public with the information but people generally consider aliens to realms of scifi only and you cant really beat the government and society both working against you
>>
>>733150394
You're right, but they don't get any service and reparation fees from me.
Only the cost of the part, which is surprisingly cheap if you know where to go.
Got a starter for my '85 for 20 bucks.
Took it to O'reilys for a test and it functioned basically as new.
Saved 90 bucks

i dont think we really have anything here on earth that they want. the labor they would get out of enslaving us cant be worth much considering the level of technology the claim to have, and the earth really doesn't have much in the way of precious metals and nothing you cant find in more abundance in the asteroid belt

I would like to know how you personally feel about this "societal conversion"

As as star trek lover, I eagerly await the day our planet unites as one species, we can rid the world of poverty and hunger, and travel the stars seeding life wherever there is none.

Is this really such a bad idea? why must republicunts think otherwise? When they talk about these old Jewish guys and their new world order, does it directly link to what these aliens of yours are planning?

>They will kill your dying father with morphine

My grandfather was euthanized this way. It's something the hospitals don't talk about. I had no problem with that. I said goodbye and looked the nurse in the eyes and nodded. My father nodded too. It's something just left unsaid, but understood.

i mean, potentially an ally, or a doting trade partner or something. i don't really know but there are people whose job it is to worry about that and as far as we can tell things seem to be on the up and up.
>>733150792
i think its probably a good thing, logically it seems like it will work out in a unified society based on scientific principles, and their plans have already been altered to have a more humanitarian skew on them.
>>733150888
well if what they said about intercepting the Berlin Olympics broadcast they would have had to have come within shouting distance of earth to get a message back to us in less than another 80 years, but they managed it in less than half a year. that alone implies a type of technology we haven't even begun to approach yet. the phrase zidong Ji came up a lot too which i was told meant sometihng along the lines of "robot" it seemes mostly in reference to an automated workforce.

One of the things that I will probably never get out of my head is when a funeral home director came for a body and it ended up getting dropped during the transition from the refrigerator gurney to the funeral home gurney because the body bag was slippery and all you heard was a thud from the skull hitting the ground followed by silence. Or the time a very fat lady died and they didn't have a body bag big enough so they wrapped her in sheets, but the catch was that no one claimed her so she sat in our fridge for three months before she got extra extra ripe to the point that no one would go in due to the biohazard and the state was called to take the body.

SETI has instructions to go black book until they know for certain what they have isnt actually aliens, so as far as im aware not much came out that year except a cover story for if they decide to go public in the way of a crowdfunded deep space transmission called the lone signal.

im at home but i have a lot of transcripts on my office computer. if you want to pop back on later around 10pm EST ill post some on here

i work in import/exports.
>We charge $100 for customs clearance brokerage because it looks complex but takes less than 2 minutes for the majority of shipments, some people's careers are literally just doing this and pretending it's a super complex process which requires degrees in maths and economics when in-fact it's mostly just imported labour on minimum wage or even outsourced to South-East Asia where they get paid $2/hr.
>Also a shirt which might sell for $50 in a store probably only cost between $5-$10 to manufacture and bring into the country.
>People also steal shit all the time, when a box goes missing it's because someone's hidden in the warehouse, and it 6 months time when the problem blows over then we get free stuff. Last year i found a box with some high-end jeans in and sold the lot for $500.

I installed an Airborne Laser Missile Defence system based on the YAL-1 on military aircraft. This more advanced version not only redirects guided missiles like the YAL-1 but "returns to sender".

There's a similar return to sender function on the C-RAM also that launches a mortar to the point of origin of the mortar it shot down.

Former gas station worker here. Probably common knowledge but the No Sale/NS/Open button opens up a register, alternatively so does the Safe Drop button. About 99% percent of the time the cashier will NOT have the key to open the safe under the counter unless they're like an assistant manager or manager. The signs on the glass doors saying "our safe takes 10+ minutes to open" is false, they use a key. Most gas station food will sit on a heating rack for the entire day and unless you come in during a busy hour when it's being cooked, it's not going to be very fresh.

Another tid bit about hospitals is that as much as you have to be a squeaky wheel in order to make sure you or your loved one get care. It can backfire easily and the whole unit will soon know that you are to be avoided unless it's absolutely necessary.
Another tid bit is that if you are related to a hospital employee that you can be put on a "vip" list and receive more imediate care. This I always thought was bs until they did it for my coworkers grandmother.
Want to skip the line in the ER, say you have chest pain and shortness of breath
Want to increase your chances of getting an ROR if you have a warrant say you have chest pain or you arm is going numb
Want better care, pray you got a good nurse assigned to you.
Or alternatively if you can learn the names of some of the high end executive staff "generally on the hospital website" threaten to tell your family friend executive John Smith about the miscare. If you are really pissed write a letter or email to the executive and sometimes they will respond and fuck the staff that fucked you as to keep the hospital money flowing in.
Remember as bad as it sounds a hospital is a for profit business
Again these things only stand true for where I work

yeah, physicist in training here, academia has rigor but real world stuff is terrible in terms of accuracy, some actual research is to for at least preliminary data. Astrophysics theories for example are worked out almost always with numbers approximated to the nearest magnitudes (number density 1, radius of 10^n) and results are good enough if within 2-3 orders of magnitude and then more accurate attempts are made after ruling out alot of bad theories with this. Electrical engineers are also bad with approximations of pi being 1 or 10.
