Capitalism is fine when it is kept in check and there is a stable democratic socialist platform to work alongside it that sees certain things like feeding and clothing the poor and healthcare for all as human rights. You pay for that by taxing the insanely wealthy at a high percentage after a certain threshold of wealth is achieved.

It's the only reasonable and workable system. The incentives of capitalism still exist but you just don't get to build pic related for yourself on a whim quite as easily once you start siphoning billions out of society because your wealth is so unchecked that it replaces itself faster than it can be spent.

Capitalism unchecked leaves you with sixty human beings owning HALF the resources of the entire planet. The argument about "hard work and grind" being responsible for this is objectively absurd.

Democratic socialism basically takes certain things off the profit making ladder (healthcare for example) whilst leaving the rest of capitalist society intact with tighter constrains on the uber wealthy. It does NOT mean that the government owns the state.

Right now, Capitalism wants foreign workers, using illegal immigrants and H-1B imports. They drive down wages, because they are able/willing to work more cheaply than you average American.

An illegal truck driver may make a few thousand dollars a month, where Americans used to get more than twice that amount.

An H-1B worker may make 70% what an American he is replacing made.

In the short term these policies help the bottom line, so businesses can show more prfit. Farther down the road, there will be nobody left who can buy the products and services these companies provide.
