I think I've been here since 09 at the latest. I don't regret it. It's interesting to see how much /b has slowed down. It's kinda nice, actually. Back in the day a good thread would be gone in minutes. Trolling has even slacked off heavily in some of the threads I frequent, especially during weekdays (Amerifat/East Coast Time). But I don't know how long Nagasaki Moot is going to be able to keep things alive. Maybe /pol, in that respect, will keep enough revenue for the board as a whole to stay alive. I really don't know enough about his revenue model to say what will and won't fly.

I have seen glorious post, some of them are history now. I never laugh as hard on the internet than here. I never read interesting stories and point of view than here.
But yeah it's mostly shit, most of the time I regret every minute I spend here. But I keep coming because I can remember the few times it was fun and I want to experience that again. Even if it's likely not going to happen again.
It's like going to see a Ridley Scott movie, even if the last great one was in the previous century.

I think you're over-reading my level of sentimentality towards /b. But I do hold to the belief that it's a good thing in concept and sometimes in execution. I don't know what the future holds for it, I try to occasionally start decent (and non-porn) threads. Sometimes they turn out pretty good.

If there are better places out there for anon-types to hang out and for things not to turn into a shit-storm like /pol I'd love to find it. But I've not come across anything yet, and I just don't have the time to search like I used to.

A few good mods could probably do a lot to curb the porn shit. If there were some function for them to redirect the thread over to /hc it might eventually curb some of the crap. Are there even any mods here anymore to any great degree? I really don't pay that close attention to know whether there are or not.
