I think it's pretty specific. It's meant to refer to the school of thought were reality is subjective (which there is some truth to actually) to the point where things that are obviously evil are written off because the implications don't matter anyway. Reality is in the eye of the beholder, so any perils to society aren't taken seriously. It's the sort of "fuck it" punk-rock sentiment that makes people sympathize with terrorists, pedophiles, ect. But I think to a lesser degree, it makes us not object to things that are obviously damaging to society. Things like pornography have become mainstream and it's kind of disturbing to see how quickly younger women are developing sexually as well as kids as young as 13 developing addictions to online pornography.

I'm not even that conservative. I'm pretty liberal socially, but things like this become so pervasive that people that would have otherwise gone to do great things are limited to internet pornography and weed. This isn't a society I particularly want.
