i was in a similar situation. I live in a small town, none of my friends/family are anywhere within hours of me, so no one to teach me how to drive.

I bought a car, and drove it around a nearby parking lot, until i was good enough to go on back roads. then, finally i started driving major roads.

All technically illegal. but it worked out great, and i drive myself back and forth to work each day.
