I was there last month (pic related), it's depressing to see how much it has changed over the last five years and I'm pretty certain weed quality has gone down alongside coffee shops being too congested and touristy. I did get 1.3 grams of Orange Diesel from Bluebird for €12.50 though and that was by far the best weed I had on the trip. The most dissapointing was the stuff I got from Dampkring. Planning not to go back to Amsterdam centre again, I'm going to try Haarlem next time.

Didn't buy anything from Bull Dog btw, just stayed there. Tried stuff from Grey Area, Green Place, Dampkring, Blue Bird, Barney's and Rookies.

It's got much, much worse due to the coffee shop closures. Used to be if you avoided the red light district you could get some seriously good weed at a decent price and enjoy some nice civilised chat in a coffee shop that wasn't too busy. Now it's overrun with obnoxious teenagers and pretty much everywhere is seriously busy unless you find a coffee shop in a side street (Balou was quite nice for a smoke although I didn't buy anything there). The historic cannabis cup winners like Green Place and Grey Area are so busy most people just buy and leave. It's a shame.

Local government town planning doesn't help either (which really got on my tits as a town planner), more could have been done to get a better mix of businesses on streets rather than allow the place to be overrun with tourist traps like rip off bakeries and convenience shops with no prices. Just reading about Spanish cannabis clubs. The articles I read mention that you "don't buy the weed", you pay a membership fee that entitles you to a certain amount. As a moderate smoker (I smoke a gram a week) would this make it uneconomical for me?

I actually mainly use it by myself, I no longer smoke weed at all. The one problem with it (also a positive) is that it really fucks you up, I find that I tend to just fall asleep after a few hours of use whereas I never got that when smoking. I think I also find it so much much stronger as I'm asthmatic so it's much easier to inhale.

On the plus side, it's fucking nice getting absolutely mind blowingly cunted. I'd been a smoker for over ten years and the volcano is the only time I've ever actually found a good use for pollen, previously when I smoked it I got an additional buzz for fifteen minutes then it went away and I was left with my usual plant stone. Now when I vape the pollen I get a euphoric, blissful effect, it's really fucking brilliant.

Definitely. The ground up stuff you see here has been vaped three times in my volcano (produced three full vape bags), have placed a fresh bud beside it for comparison. As you can see it's still very green.

I've tried re-grinding it and vaping already vaped stuff another two times at a higher temperature, it is extremely effective - potentially even stronger than fresh given the amount you can fit in the chamber when it's this dry and has been reground. It's not as pleasant though, quite harsh unfortunately but good if you're in a fix. I'm going to try smoking it in a joint and vaping it instead next time and will just stick with whatever is more effective.
