Unrelated to limewire because I never downloaded it. Even as a youngling I knew the shit would infest my computer with aids. But before that, I had a similar story when chatrooms were big on yahoo messenger. There was this guy that ratted my computer after claiming that he would make me a song because at the time I liked music. About three years later when I was in my teens and found my ways around a computer, I learned how to decrypt RATS after browsing old different forums to find the said person's information contained within the RAT at the time in safe mode. I only became aware of it because the file was still on my computer and poorly hidden in my picture folder. One day I go to the local library and log into his email to find all sorts of illegal material. illegal material that could be seen just from the email, and others that required you to open them. There was a lot of outgoing emails in zipped folders to many different emails with random letters and onion links. I learned that his email was abandoned and at this point because the last outgoing email was three years prior to me finding out about it. I wondered till this day maybe the last few emails contained pictures of me, but I didn't want to take the chance to open them. Immediately I close the tab and head home hoping nobody had seen me in the library. After that I went into safe mode and removed the RAT and did a system reformat just incase. My paranoia had gotten the better of me and I never told anybody, so after that I just gave away my pc. My parents were curious to as why I wanted to give it away, but I just claimed it was outdated and broke. But in reality, I was too afraid to use it again. To this day don't know what happened to the guy. He's most likely in jail, committed suicide or browsing these boards right now.
