I don't miss the popups, the speaking banner ads, the slow connections, fucking popunders, but I do miss how web pages tried to look futuristic and cool, lots of black backgrounds and bright text, usually green. All those endless angelfire or geocities pages where people had "home pages" and you could sign a guest book, they had a dozen shitty .gifs all going at the same time as decoration. Those weird mouse cursors that were fireworks or a string of words
now every website sucks, I hate looking at them.
