It's not even about who the activities are made by, as it is who they're made for.

In the 90s and 2000s, children had their own specialised entertainment, both electronic (video games and TV shows) and otherwise (extra-curricular activities, clubs, etc). Much of this entertainment was produced or run by adults, but it was made for children, and gave them their own community distinct from that of their parents.

Nowadays, children just consume the same entertainment as adults do. There's nothing special about childhood anymore. It's essentially just a weaker version of adulthood where you have less power, and don't have the skills or maturity to produce your own content. Good entertainment aimed specifically at children is becoming rarer and rarer.

We have reason to believe that there was a minor ice age aprox. 10,000 years ago, and there are people theorizing that this is a fairly warm planet, and that we are coming out of this ice age. We also look at evidence of advanced civilization at sites like Gobekli Tepe, and the sites that people are discovering via google earth... There's still a lot we don't know, but a bunch of rich jerk offs getting paid millions to wank off about garbage is ok? hmmm...
