The immediate shift in character kills it for me. I get that you and the reader get off on turning powerful women into weeping messes, but the immediate defeat and tears are just so boring. I want to see an actual power struggle. Frost is a heavy hitter, and having her just give up so fast is a waste, even without powers. Some kicking and screaming would be nice, maybe restraints breaking and things getting forceful...I don't know.
