On topic of shrooms. My first experience was about 1.5-2G and I did experience effects. It's a starting dose but I would fast beforehand and try a cup of coffee to clean the bowels before shrooming, the energy boost helps too. I like coffee before a trip, gives mental clarity.

1.5g is a decent starting dose, don't listen to people saying you need more, if they're good shrooms you will have a decent and comfortable trip, if not they will give mild effects to give you and idea of what they do to you.

You don't need to jump into the deep end first

If you end up enjoying it and want to take it again in the next couple of weeks (or months, depending on your reaction), your tolerance will already be built and you'll need twice as much to experience effects that will either be weaker or stronger than the last, but never count on the same exact result. I have taken over 5g dried cubensis, and found it to be, ultimately, a very centring, calming and nature-connecting experience. I took them on my own, in my bedroom in a house I knew I had to myself for the duration. I set an intention, focused on it, burned some incense (copal complements well, but anything you like) and lay down.
I'd previously taken mushrooms recreationally, but never 'heroically'. I had done a few ayahuasca journeys though, so was pretty well prepared.
I found it helped with my depression by making me see the bigger picture and nature, and that I am a part of that, nothing more.
