-Cops lie, and even when shown to be lying, are never ever prosecuted for perjury
-Cops routinely violate people's rights.
-Cops are like everyone else - they can be corrupt, rude, have a shitty day, make poor decisions, be drug addicts. The difference is cops can also beat you, lock you up, do pretty much whatever the fuck they want to you. That has changed somewhat in the last few years because of smart phones/videos.

At least in Ohio, it is more expensive to take a fine to court than to just pay it. I mean, if you win, you obviously don't owe anything, but usually you will take a plea bargain or at least be found guilty of a lesser violation, in which case even though the fine will be significantly lower, the total cost will still be higher.
